cool like like the flute-ish sound it reminds me of the D50 and that takes me straight to Zelda. nice atmosphere. The sound choice is digital and cold which reflects the title. I like that. Be well.
Thanks for dropping by and feedback, mate. Be well too.

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

Very very nice. ^ Good work. when you are dealing with any meter that can be divided with three e.g. 3/4 , 6/8, it is called compound meter, while measures in numbers like 5/4 , 7/4, 11/4 are odd meters. Thus, you are in a compound meter in the example.

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

Greetings. Hope this little consideration can be helpful to those who like to enter this field, but may find it difficult. A Simple guide into odd or compound meters 1. Think of a steady hi hat in, say, 120 bpm. The same sample just ticking ahead tik tik tik tik tik tik tik tik: This is called a cou...

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

btw i dont think the 4/4 dominance is just culturally imposed, Well, I can say that for native african drummers it is all about the number 12, which can be divided with both 3, 4, 2, and 6. My own teacher was rather crazy about it and told me it was the secret number of the universe + a lot of othe...

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

I learned all this from an afro-american teacher who knew the native ways. He taught me how to use polyrhythms and find the flow of any odd or compound meter. He also taught me a native counting system based on simple math and African-Cuban clave theory, which is easily applied to any style, not jus...

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

Not that you care, but I'm not opposed to odd time signatures, some of my favorite artists have written some great songs in odd time signatures, namely in 7/4, but I can't seem to crack the code. Apparently you and other do quite well at it, and I applaud you for it. But if we can't have a civilize...

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

i'll contribute this EP, its written in multiple odd signatures, i cant recall which. doing those can feel really natural if you just focus on what sounds good in them. Thanks for posting on topic, mate. It is nice easy listening. Even though the tempo is not slow, I chilled over the moods. You are...

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

WTF? I could swear the thread title says "Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!" and not "What do you think of non-4/4 signatures?". I could not care less about what people who do not use alternative signatures think about them, and I do not need any advice not to use them or care about them. This was ...

Nope, most of what I do musically is based in 4/4, you know, with those endless repetitions

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

The endless variations versus the endless repetitions in 4/4. So, your perception is that you can't do endless variations in 4/4? I'm currently working on a song that is in 4/4. It is close to 7 minutes long, yet no two bars are the same across the whole song. Endless repetitions in 4/4 is basicall...

Re: Post your non-4/4 tunes here, plz!

it just doesn't work for me. It doesn’t work for most, but that is a habit of present culture and much less a personal choice than you may think. You have no idea of what you are missing, sir. The magic flow of numbers other than 4/4. The native ways. The endless variations versus the endless repet...

The Bloodstained Guardian - Electro Folk in 10/4

Every realm has its Guardian. Hel is no exception. Thus, when Odin rode to Hel to learn about the nightmares of his son, Baldr, he encountered Garmr, the bloodstained guardian of the gates to Hel. Fortunately, Odins eight legged horse Sleipner was too fast for even Garmr, so he could only howl from ...

Greetings surface dwellers Another tune from the darkness of Hel. It goes 10/4. Thus, the guitar theme + drums are counted in 10. However, the ocarina theme is in 4/4 occasionally turns the rhythm into a 10 against 8 (or 5 against 4 if you prefer) polyrhythm. https://soundcloud.com/user-228690154/th...
