It’s not terribly uncommon to see synths (subtractor is not one of them) that let you reset the phase of the oscillators at each key press.
If you do that, and you aren’t using any kind of random tuning drift, even detuned oscillators will sound the same with every new note.

If you wanted to remove the fundamental from NN-XT or NN19 (and I'm guessing also Mimic), then all you'll need is to set the filter to notch, key tracking to 100%, and tune the cutoff to the fundamental. WIth Redrum it's super quick - simply switch the envelope to gated (the square graph). Leave the decay time on max, the sample only plays for as long as you hold the note, and cuts off right away afterwards.

Here the bass plays the riff the riff the whole way through, rather than shifting underneath, so it sounds like the chords never change. And the bass disappears completely ...

Not buggy over here, and I can’t recall anyone mention any bugs.
Can you describe a bit more how it sounds on your side? Maybe a clip? That would help us determine if it works as intended, or if there is indeed buggyness.
