Re: Compatible Keyboard suggestions please! (tight budget)
I'd suggest to google suggestions you get to learn more about them! But I'll tell you that Nektar has the deepest Reason integration of any manufacturer. Google search doesn't do much for letting you know if keyboards are reason compatible, even less so letting you know to what degree they are comp...

Re: Has VST-support ruined Reason?
I am a staunch defender of the RE format. I am also not a fan of the floating window aspect of VST plugins. That said, I use VST plugins where they are most useful - mainly for detailed metering (e.g. Voxengo SPAN). But, as was pointed out to me by Mattias (I think), I can "disable" VST support myse...

Re: "Correct" or natural placement of reverb
Many thanks for the replies. I hadn't actually considered creating a single stereo reverb unit. https://www.dropbox.com/s/k36yw105t2xz4l6/Selig_TrueStereoRV7000.cmb.zip?dl=0 Here's one I just made while explaining this concept. I added a new feature to the way I used to do this, which is "CrossFeed...

Re: any way to change playhead behavior?
I use the transport controls on my Nektar Panorama P4 a lot. It's the most useful thing about it. You can also use Keyboard Control to map two (computer) keys to backward/forward, it will jump in 1-bar increments. If it's already mapped, I haven't seen it, but I know there's a chart with shortcuts t...

Re: Compatible Keyboard suggestions please! (tight budget)
Thanks guys. So do these keyboards have sliders that can control rack instrument parameters, LFO etc..? Can they also do transport control? Cheers, Mark. I'd suggest to google suggestions you get to learn more about them! But I'll tell you that Nektar has the deepest Reason integration of any manuf...

Re: New free RE coming soon from 17 Frames :)
A syncable LFO that goes beyond 8 bars is the one thing I have been missing the most when designing my half hour drone ambient pieces. I realise it might sound like sarcasm, but I'm serious! I've come to rely more on automation for this, but I'm sure this will find a lot of use in my sound design. S...

Re: [Q] Polymetric velocity decoupled from note/gate using players?
I’m not 100% sure but I think Delta MIDI Computer can do this. Oh, wow, I had a look at the manual. I'd seen it in the shop, but only glanced at it. Seems powerful and complicated. Easiest way is two Matrixes, one for gate/velocity and one for Note (I just tried to make sure it works as I remembere...

[Q] Polymetric velocity decoupled from note/gate using players?
Sorry for title gore, was hard to describe this succinctly! Here's what I want to do: Using players, can you think of a way to have a note sequence, with a separate sequence (of different length) determining the velocity of the notes? Example: A straight 4 note arpeggio. But I want to loop a velocit...

Re: Reason vs. the competition: make it competitive again
Yeah I'm gonna be a dick again...I have been using Reason professionally since about 2003 until early 2020. I know it pretty well. I've mixed and produced commercial albums in it. I love the rack paradigm, which is why I still bother to use it at all. After not touching it for a month or 2, I came ...

Re: Reason vs. the competition: make it competitive again
I appreciate that you put a lot of thought into this post, chaosroyale - but as with most of these "doom" posts, it is comparing one DAW with the entirety of the competition, it seems. And it's also very solipsistic. "Unfortunately, at the moment, I think Reason the DAW doesn't have a future in the ...

Re: Autosub by Forgotten Clank Studios now in the shop!
I would have loved to be able to use the filters on my existing bass instruments. As a more tweakable alternative to A.R.T.'s "Bottom" preset.

Re: So what have you bought from this May Madness Sale?
I downloaded some players to demo, and dismissed two of them, but bought Evolution as soon as I saw (and heard) the combinator library. It's nuts! I want that randomisation script as a standalone app. I'd pay money for it! Do you hear me, Lectric Panda? Money!

Re: I've started to use "Control Room Out"
I control my monitor level with a passive volume controller (NanoPatch) before the monitors. I have my Control Room outputs hooked up to the sampling input - I do a *lot* of resampling in Reason. Creating a drum sound and resample it into Kong, for instance. That way, sampling is always there - I on...

Re: Scratching in Reason?
First, I assume a USB turntable has a built in audio interface so you can record the audio directly into Reason. Just record yourself scratching on a record (that you don't mind ruining, depending on the quality of the turntable/cartridge/needle). Then you can edit and adjust the timing as you pleas...
