Re: which mixer do you use
You can still create post-master-ouput inserts, aswell within a combinator, so you regain the master insert control knobs and buttons. Especially since we got the Masterbus compressor within the rack. I think I understand what you are saying and while I might have to adapt to a vertical rack-centri...

Re: which mixer do you use
I was pretty happy with how R11 kept tweaking track by track in the rack and fitting it all together in the SSL separate. While I like R12 the removal of the insert Fx panel from the SSL has wrecked the way I used it. Tweaking and mixing are different things in my head. I had templates with my own m...

Re: Free-VST "Airwindows Strip Club" Combinator
Just Awesome.
When I first heard about Combinator II, one of my first ideas is that it would be a great way to integrate some of the left of field plugins like Airwindows right into the Reason rack.
Evidently, I was far from alone in that idea.
This is superb. Very inspirational

Re: Cakewalk vs Reason
As a long term Cakewalk user who has come to Reason recently I would say that using Cakewalk and Reason Rack compliment each other so well that they end up being more than the sum of each part. What Reason lacks Cakewalk covers and visa versa. I was in despair when Cakewalk folded, but since Bandlab...

Re: Tape saturation in Reason?
Hornet Tape is dirt cheap and excellent.
Actually, that applies to all their VSTs.
I particularly like how they auto gain everything so you don't fall into the louder=Better trap.

Re: How Are You Using Reasons Rack?
The way the rack integrates into Cakewalk is just about perfect for me.
Both programs compliment each other in ways I couldn't imagine before I picked up Reason.
That's all any musical tool needs to do.

Re: Do you have any fun or exciting ideas for the new Combinator?
An assignable action to flip the rack - just like in the Rack Plugin. As a touch user having to go into the menu, or set up a midi controller using key2Midi is a huge pain. Especially when it exists in the other half of the very same program. Some kind of assignable actions to interact with the time...

Re: The breakthrough of sampling: 1985
I love my old Casio FZ-1. They were 1987s Poor Mans Fairlight. Digital Oscillators + Grungy Resonant Analogue Filter + Additive Synthesis + 2 meg of Samples. First LCD Screen on a keyboard - You can draw your own waveforms Worlds first 3.5 inch floppy drive - which is also the reason they are so rar...

Re: Hide/Show Faders in the Mixer
Solved.
It is because I have set up all of my templates with the mixer detached.
The faders can only be hidden when the mixer is attached to the sequencer.
Onward

Hide/Show Faders in the Mixer
The Hide/Show faders Button in the mixer - Labelled "FDR" in the bottom right corner of the mixer. I can never get it to do anything. Since I use Reason in a touch screen only fashion, I would really like to get it to work. Is there something I am missing? Has it ever worked in the way I expect? Tha...

Vst plugins that support multi-touch function in Reason with multi-touch. I have a couple of Cakewalk eq vsts that work fine this way. I don't know how many plugins are designed to do this.

Re: Any ideas or requests for a new RE?
Casio FZ-1 series is not well known, but was an important instrument in eighties Hip-hop and Dance. Had a one of a kind analogue filter chip from Mitsubishi. Can distort in a very nice way. It has its own synth waveforms, did sampling and additive. Envelopes are like the CZ - lots of stages and you ...

Re: Anyone use iZoptope Neutron 3?
I have used Neutron since it came out. It's a great toolbox with many excellent features. If I had to pick one desert island channel strip plugin, it would be Neutron. If izotope gave it away once they will give it away again maybe. Elements gives you plenty to work with. I actually use it more than...

Noob looking at hardware replacement
Hi All. Just arrived into Reasonland a couple of weeks ago when I bought Intro. Having a blast. I have not been this inspired by Music Software for a long long time. Long Term Project5>Sonar user who has been looking for a replacement for Cakewalk due to its wobbles over the last few years. Although...

Re: about the attack stage of ADSR
What you are describing is a distinctive feature of Yamaha CS analogue synths. They have an attack level control which sets the volume level where the attack starts. Any setting higher than zero creates a continuous sound. Most vsts based on these instruments will have this feature. And instruments ...

Re: Wusik Station v.9 $19.99. Any views?
I used to use Wusik V4-V6. It was pretty good and had some unusual ideas at the time. The library was vast and was being extended every month. Wusik was like a crazy subscription where you didn't know what would happen next. There was a magazine every month that was superb. The graphic design and wr...
