Re: Anyone else notice that instruments in the RRP and Reason DAW do not sound the same?
I noticed Reason 12 sounds better after 5 shots of liquor. Could be a fluke or could be a serious error on RStudios developers part.

Re: Thoughts on Reason DAW standalone: new life?
Maybe they realized a lot of folks are using BOTH, like I have recently begun to do. Sure, more folks speak of using one or the other (or leaving one for the other). But I find Reason to still be the best DAW for ME to start songs with, just not to 'finish' them. I agree 100 percent, Reason is best...

Re: U-He sale
Yeah, same old crazy prices. Never understood this business model. Instead of getting your piece of code into everyone's computer, you have an amount of people wanting your product, not getting it ever. I mean it's a piece of code. Let us all have it and I mean ALL. And then we know how good it is,...

Re: Reason 12 F***** autosave
Yes there are other ways, ... I was thinking of separate autosave files (which would mean a 500MB project would result in 500MB autosave files, and there'd be a noticeable save delay). But if they allow multiple versions in a single project file, that problem goes away. I was ignoring the option of...

Re: Reason 12 F***** autosave
Regular manual saving is the way forwards. Also buying a cheap (ish) UPS helps with power outage save prolonged PC life. However file sizes for multiple sizes can be a problem. Also you may not wish to auto save if you are trying things out and need to revert. And to the chap who had a dig at the d...

Re: VST3 only - the list of major plugins is growing
Funny profile picture. Yes, I agree totally, also noticed a few VST3 plugins (like Novum) which do not have VST2 support. Probably because it was released pretty recently so developers saw no point in tryin to include VST2 knowing that it is dying breed. But trust me. Reason Studios are working on V...

Re: Regarding "Soundbytes" article on Bass
I didn’t say 60 Hz, I said: this is why I prefer to use MIDI note numbers because middle C is always ‘60’. MIDI note numbers always mean the same frequency as far as I’ve ever experienced, but I’m not aware of every spec out there… And yes, this is the entire problem you experienced in that video, ...

Re: Regarding "Soundbytes" article on Bass
This very handy website might help. https://pages.mtu.edu/%7Esuits/notefreqs.html I suspect the synth you are testing on is pitched an octave higher so your E2 is actually E3. Yes, but it does not explain why in article one sentence they say one thing and next sentence another. Or the fact that it ...

I ask everyone else then :D Generally speaking, do the notes in a DAW represent same notes as in the article? Even if they did not, the article still contradicts itself with the values written in the image that author uploaded and then next sentence that the author wrote. So I want to understand, w...

Re: Regarding "Soundbytes" article on Bass
Man.... 😂 You do realize the midi note doesn't really mean anything when you talk about synths cause you van change the octave on the device, therefore go by frequency, not by the midi note number 😂😂😂 Try to divide those numbers you complain about in half and see. 😂🤣😂 I understood absolutely nothin...

Regarding "Soundbytes" article on Bass
Today I stumbled upon this article here: https://soundbytesmag.net/tutorial-how-to-compress-bass/ And while I did not read all of it, but noticed the paragraph "How to write a bassline" is full of contradictions. Or maybe I am misunderstanding something here? Author says : "E2, for instanc...

Re: Kilohearts new dual delay(free)
Speaking of delays,… The Echo… …On SENDs they do not act as I wish them to act. But - really? How? can't manage to achieve desired ping pong ratio on plucks. So just settled with using it as insert all the time. But to be honest, I never used SENDs before in my music, so there is a lot to learn for...

Re: Kilohearts new dual delay(free)
Speaking of delays, I was looking for a holy grail few months back (bought a couple expensive 3rd party plugins), and finally settled with Reasons Echo. The only one that always delivers the sound that I want to achieve at 80-100 BPM. I used to use double DigitalDelays before to get similar ping pon...

On a side note, I used Orkester sound banks quite often when I was just starting out in Reason, but after 14-15 years it seems all those samples stayed the same, am I wrong?

Re: how can I know samplerate of diferent clips?
Yes, can confirm long time ago I noticed that there is difference in the sound between 44.1 and 96 kHz (my old interface had such maximum sample rate). But as I remember the difference was mostly in effect plugins. Or maybe it was both. Anyway. Sound indeed was brighter and fuller. EDIT: decided to ...

Re: how can I know samplerate of diferent clips?
Slightly related but dumb question, did not want to make another thread.
Let's say I work with Audio Interface settings (global) at 44.1 kHz and 16bit, same in Reason. But what if I export audio then and change settings at the export to 48kHz and 24bit. Will it make sense to do or not?

Re: What are the biggest reasons, why certain bugs appear for only few of us?
Funny I was about to report one bug, and as I was writing a topic, suddenly the bug stopped happening. The issue was with putting insert FX into MIX channel and then moving that FX out of channel. Couldn't do it. Then after 100 tries I managed to move it out. So at best, it's a half-assed bug which ...

Re: When was the last time you used the supplied sounbanks?
I was just playing around in Reason and doing my usual browsing through my left sidebar in the REs and refill/patch folders and realised I rarely go into places like Reason Sounds, Drum Supply, Loop Supply and I haven't been into the FSB for a long time and the Orkester Sounds in absolutely years! ...
