Re: What does everyone have in the mastering section?
Sometimes when producing, writing and working on a loud boomy song, I have a brickwall limiter in the masterpath to protect my tweeters/ cones (from both monitors and cans) and my ears. But once mixed and not so loud and boomy anymore, I remove the limiter again. You can also use a compressor with t...

Re: Nektar soft touch: buyer beware
FYI this is an applied soft touch velvety coating over the hard plastic. Propellerhead's Balance had the same coating and the same sticky degradation issues. I got aggressive with my old Balance and stipped the sticky coating off in places down to the shiny plastic base and it looked awful until I ...

Re: What did you just buy yourself?
I've just bought Synthesizer V. https://dreamtonics.com/synthesizerv/ I've been playing with the free version for some time but I wanted more control and the new ARA extension. It's pretty good, easily the best in its field (for now). Not as good as a decent vocalist but decent vocalists can be har...

Re: Nektar soft touch: buyer beware
I have it on my Push2 from Ableton too, as well as on the doorhandles of my car, a BMW 325i. For my Push2, I have to see what to do, for my BMW I have bought replacement parts from Amazon, which are ordinary plastic, not the soft touch ones anymore. Have to dissemble the inner door panels for this t...

Re: Best way to sync MIDI to external audio sources?
Besides Reason 12.7, I have Ableton Live Suite 10. Tried a few times to use Ableton for it but it is not easy to match and quantize the beats from audio sources. You have to record it first anyway, analyze it, and then quantize it before it is useful. Reason cannot do this, but Ableton is to expensi...

Re: Latency: is there soemthing I am missing?
To avoid “feeling” latency, I use my old Lexicon MPX 1 in the monitorpath. I use a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 gen 3. This way I can provide some fx for myself or guest musicians or vocalists. I patched in the MPX 1 digitally so monitor quality is as good as it gets. I use a buffer setting of 64 sample...

Thank Wesmont for letting us know.
I wish you strength to cope with the loss…….
Of course also for the ones closest to him too.
ALS is such a horrifying thing, it is just not fair, as no one can win that battle……
May Bossa rest in peace.

They charge you $200,= for it actually to upgrade to Live 12……. And yes most did not read well before buying……. $183 ~ to be more precise, if you preordered like I did. Very happy with the workflow improvements. No bugs or issues either 👍 If your PC is OK with the AVX2 instruction set, there is no ...

I used Focusrite Audio Interfaces for about ten years now, and I'm quite happy with that brand. Surely not the best for sure not the worst, plenty of options and the quality overall is OK. I have a Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen right now, and it does it's job good and without any problems........ Just my t...

Re: What did you just buy yourself?
We, my wife and I, just bought a BMW 325i - 3.0 saturday. It has a fualconsumption friendly 3.0 liter, 6 cylinder engine with 218HP. It also has an automatic 6 speed transmission and full leather interior. The car is already 15 years old, but is in a beautiful state. Just love it, but with pain in m...

I downloaded and installed Dubstation 1.5.
I like it, and with Ableton Live Suit 10/Push2 it let itself adjust by the Push2 controls.
Thanx for the tip!

Free UAD LA2A plugin ain't free!!!!
As the tittle says: it ain't free forever, it is only a demo! It was online advertised in Musicradar. I installed it, and it is a demo. If you want to use it longer than 2 weeks, pay $163,= !
So if you do not want to demo it, don't go for the hassle of installing it......
