Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
While the roadmap seemed like a great step forward, I have a feeling it's all for Reason+ users. There was no mention of these updates coming to R12 point upgrades, maybe the point upgrades are no longer a thing. The point updates are coming to R12, regardless of how you bought (sub or perp). So.. ...

Re: For Niklas: List of Sequencer improvements
And further to the management of mute/solo, why the heck are the SSL controls on the top part of the 'split', so when you scroll up to use all the features of the desk, those individual channel mute/solos are off-screen ? This is a very amateurish oversight, that could be remedied by reducing their ...

Re: For Niklas: List of Sequencer improvements
As far as the separate solo/mutes in the sequencer, it has its benefits. It would be handy to have both in the sequencer (what is there now and a link to the mixer buttons). I just don't know how they could be presented to be intuitive. But I do like being able to mute/solo sequencer events separat...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
Actually, here's a wayback snapshot of Propellerhead's shop page from the Reason 5 days. Upgrade price was $129 If every upgrade between then and now were $10, we would be EXACTLY at $199, and it would have been historically on-trend for price increments. Where or when was the outrage on the $50 hik...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
A 54% price increase is pretty significant when you think about it in terms of percentages. Only because it's delivered in one hit ! The statement they made about 'it's the only upgrade price increase ever' is clearly BS, but if there were a $10 increase on every new upgrade since it was first $129...

Re: For Niklas: List of Sequencer improvements
Thinking of solo buttons... In Logic, as it may be with other DAWs, you can solo the solos (one at a time). I think it's by holding option when clicking a solo button (so then you don't have to unsolo something before you solo another track). I don't think there is a way to do that in Reason? Doesn...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
No it doesn't to your first question and yes I have to the second. Well, regardless of who ReasonStudios is sold to, it hardly matters to you, based on your purchasing trends. You're already supporting an investment firm with no interest in music production software. I'm worried about them being so...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
Because I think it will cost them more sales than they make up for in margin. I could be wrong, but they haven't gotten anything right aside from maybe porting Reason over into a VST in the past decade. Do you really think everyone will be jumping to upgrade to reason 12 for 199 dollars? You're nut...

Does the corporate structure of ReasonStudios influence your spending habits ? Whether the 'sell off' happens before o...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
Yep, I was thinking it should be like 145 to 149 if they were going to increase it. Not a 60% increase for less features. Yet another Reason Studios business model failing. Lets see how well that SaS is going to work boys. You've tried to jump on every other industry trend in the past decade (App S...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129
Nobody likes a price hike, but for me it just makes the decision easier. I won't be upgrading. For those arguing 'cost of living', here's a summary, based on a rolling inflation rate (for Sweden) since 2011. If price hikes were to follow this, then the 2021 upgrade price would be $144.00. ...

Re: For Niklas: List of Sequencer improvements
The Sequencer has M & S, but it doesn't function the same way, and is not talking to the desk. The Mute and Solo buttons in the Sequencer pane also allow you to mute specific lanes in one SSL channel, and also the effect lanes (that have an automation lane in the sequencer but no SSL channel). But ...

Re: For Niklas: List of Sequencer improvements
To my mind, there's always ben a missing feature relating to solo/mute on the sequencer tracks. Compare to the Mix Channels > SSL Mixer, there are two buttons; MUTE ALL OFF SOLO ALL OFF The Sequencer has M & S, but it doesn't function the same way, and is not talking to the desk. A Global Mute / Sol...

MIDI Controller Configuration for Image Processing ?
Is it possible ?
Modern DAWs allow a great hands-on approach for USB MIDI Control functions.
On a platform like Adobe's photo processing software (ACR & Lightroom), it would be GREAT to have a physical interaction with the controls of each panel module. 8 knobs, 8 sliders and 8 rubber buttons

It seems to me that some people approach the Internet with the sole purpose of arguing. How is that working out for you? How's it working out for you ? Since this thread resurged, you've said what it 'should ' be about. Twice ! What this thread is about is Reason DAW in comparison to Cakewalk DAW. ...

looks like its the opposite of the gaussian normal distribution. That means the users of the Combinator and none-users are not normal :-D What does this even mean ? In the context of 'at this moment', the combined results are 63% above the center measure of 0 votes. The below is 38% under. Three se...

Re: How Often Have You Used the Combinator in the past 12 months ? [Legacy C1 + New C2]
I almost never load other peoples combinator patches. There's just too much junk to look at and deal with if you want to modify something in a patch. I prefer a "cleaner" instrument only patch where I get to add the effects if they are needed. I typically find patches where several instruments are ...

Re: How Often Have You Used the Combinator in the past 12 months ? [Legacy C1 + New C2]
I cast the first vote for 'Almost Always'. My default start-point is: a Combi container, a 14:2 mixer, a sound source (stock or RE) a couple of FX on the desk, usually reverb and delay. Next, I'll either add another instrument to the mini-mixer console, or split the audio output into Ch2, Ch3 etc of...

How Often Have You Used the Combinator in the past 12 months ? [Legacy C1 + New C2]
With the arrival of the new Combinator, and an unexpected bucket-load of new functionality, what segment of the Reason forum community are actually Combi users, prior to the R12 drop ? By 'users', the reference is to 'Creating you Own' .cmb Combinator2 looks cool as all heck (I base this only on the...
