Re: Record sound from Youtube

Thanks everyone. I'm sure one of these suggestions will work just fine. The simple web-based audio rippers will hopefully do the trick. Believe it or not, I did try googling first, but didn't use the search term "ripper" and my results weren't as helpful. I see a few different possible solutions now...

Record sound from Youtube

Hello. How can I record sound from Youtube videos directly into Reason? If I can't do that, what are some simple and inexpensive (or free) ways of recording sound from a Youtube video that I can then import into Reason (or Melodyne)? Apps? VSTs? other methods? This could be for sampling, but what I ...

Windows 11 update (with Reason 12)

Hello. I apologize if this has been addressed before, but my forum searches did not turn anything up... I've put off my computers free upgrade to Windows 11 for a while to wait for bugs to be worked out. I'm curious if anyone has upgraded their Windows 10 system to 11 while using Reason 12, and whet...

Just update to 12: Two Questions

Update from 11 suite to 12, and I have a couple of probably dumb questions... 1) Is there a way for me to migrate my "favorites" lists from 11 to 12? 2) Is there a convenient way to search for the new combinator 2 patches only. The sound bank has all the combinator patches together, but I want to ex...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived

My question is about the promised VST3 implementation. Mattias said they were looking to add that before the end of the year. Will that be for all Reason 12 license holders or will that only be a feature for Reason+ subscribers and everyone else will have to pay for that in Reason 13? What makes yo...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived

Hello. I was hoping Reason Studios would surprise us with some unannounced DAW/Sequencer upgrades and maybe midi out, VST3...but I realize for those using Reason 12 as a plugin this is a good update. My question is about the promised VST3 implementation. Mattias said they were looking to add that be...

Re: Ekssperimental Sounds: TAPEFUNK M10 RE released

Just spotted this from Softube; https://i.ibb.co/92Fzn9n/Capture.jpg Different kind of device of course. But looks similar to TAPEFUNK. All that empty space is giving me serious OCD issues!! :| If the comparison is to an Ekssperimental Sounds product, then it should probably be compared against the...

No, the RE SDK has no functionality for directly accessing files in any place of the OS. So a RE could not even locate and especially not load any VST.
Gotcha. Bummer.

Re: Best solution for loading VST3 plugins

Could a Rack Extension not be made that would host VST3 like BlueCat? Either by an RE developer or even by Reason Studios themselves as a short term solution until they make the DAW compatible (if indeed they plan on continuing to develop the DAW). Admittedly, I know nothing about writing software c...

Re: Reason 12 is coming!

They know how much it has been requested so I think they would probably already have announced it if it was going to be in R12 at launch. I guess there is a chance that they are working on it right now and are not sure whether it will be ready in time but RS have always danced to their own tune. In...

Re: Reason 12 is coming!

Is it reasonable to assume that 12 will support VST3? When 11 came out I dismissed the griping around the focus on the rack at the expense of the DAW. I had assumed there would be significant point updates to the DAW, and specifically VST3 support since all the major competition has had that for som...

Re: Industrializer RE from Ekssperimental Sounds

I'd suspected as much before, but this settles it, Ekssperimental Sounds is the developer whose record collection I would probably most enjoy listening to. I bought the Industrializer. If I could justify it to myself, I would purchase the other recently released rack extensions, but I just have so m...

Re: Izotope Vocal Doubler not showing

I seem to recall this happened to me about a year ago. I think it was the Vocal Doubler, but it may have been a different Izotope product.

Anyhow...contact Izotope. Apparently its a common issue. They'll fix it. I believe they sent me a link to a different download or something.

Re: Arturia V8 Released

CMI V vs Emulator II V I fear this may be a very ignorant question. How do these two synths really differ? I appreciate how they were different machines as hardware. But as software, are they not both fairly similar vintage samplers? I don't know for certain if that is true...I'm asking. They would ...

Re: Kuassa Amps RE vs VST

Thanks. I just ask because I like to have the option to sometimes use something in Ableton, so I would get the vst. However, since I spend 90% of my time in Reason and probably won't end up using this in another DAW, I could get the RE. If the vst if just as functional though and the RE has no addit...

Kuassa Amps RE vs VST

Hi. I know sometimes when a device is offered as either a rack extension or a vst, it can preform better as a rack extension in Reason. Does anyone know if that is the case for Kuassa amps? I already have Vermillion (vst) and I'm thinking of getting Matchlock on sale. My Vermillion Amp has no issues...

Re: Enlightenspeed Melodic Inverter is in the shop

If this does what I think it does, its output (and its scale or mode) is meant to be a specific pattern based on inverting the intervals between notes. You could then change that key, but changing the scale would miss the point of the device. It's not really meant to be probabilistic either. So you...

Re: Enlightenspeed Melodic Inverter is in the shop

Obviously this device needs to have a way to set the mode, scale and key. Unless it's using some really smart AI tricks to auto detect that info. I see it having a probability knob and range/velocity knobs to match the other Enlightenspeed players. Something that would be cool for this device is a ...

Re: Enlightenspeed Melodic Inverter is in the shop

Regarding some of the earlier posts, this actually appears to be doing a different thing than the (also cool) Tonicmint Negate device. This is not mirroring exactly. Some time back I was looking for a device (similar to Tonicment Negate) device that would do "chromatic inversion" of a melody. The vi...

Umpf Retro Beats - update 1.0.1

An update to Umpf Retro was released yesterday. It was probably just an update to fix bugs but the website doesn't say anything about what the update was for - bugs or sample of features. Re: Negate rack extension - Question

Perhaps a mono-CV through device would be more elegant than a Player here. I'll think about whether I want to do it or not :) I'll be interested if you do. While figuring out "negative melodies" is not that difficult, it would be cool to have a device that could quickly do it to any number of midi ...

Negate rack extension - Question

Hello. This is in reference to the Negate rack extension by Tonicmint. The description says it can produce "negative melodies" but I wanted to make sure that means the same thing that it does in music theory as I would think it would be tricky for a player device to do that. But maybe I'm wrong. Wha...
