Re: Downsized and happier.
Today I realised where my frustration was stemming from so...I removed all my REs and VSTs from Reason. I kept a famous 80s synth, a bassline synth and a Linndrum. I've got a basic delay, a reverb and a chorus in the Effects section. I've also got my guitars and my bass. And that's it. It's so fuck...

Re: What features are REALLY necessary for Reason 11
I apologize for a (somewhat) troll post.. I can't help it.. ReWire! I'd be using Reason 11 right now if they hadn't dropped this. I still feel kind of strongly about this... but if it never comes back then it honestly won't bother me at all anymore because I will always have Reason 10, if I want mor...

Re: Song vs Instrumental
I can't honestly fill out the poll so I didn't. But since you started on vocals... (this is on you OP !). Before Reason 10 I didn't do much with vocals, I always admired their power potential but... I can't sing. My gf doesn't want to come near any of my mics so it's instrumental ("synthesi...

Re: I am a very happy chap right now........
Reason as a whole is awesome... nothing changes there. Some people like myself kind of dislike Reason 11 but that does nothing away from the fact that Reason as a stand-alone DAW... is nothing like you've ever experienced. Personally I prefer Reason 10 for offtopic reasons but I absolutely agree tha...

Re: Midi out from Rewire?
Officially no only audio out is supported. But with a bit of hacking through the ReaJS plugin it can be made to work. You basically need to send the midi data out of two unused audio channels, then use some custom code in ReaJS to extract the midi data again. I'm on my phone right now but I'll look ...

Re: are send FX the final stage in the reason routing?
This is what I'd describe as the main problem with "mainstream Reason". It's very easy to use Reason by using drag & drop and then 'doing' stuff, which is a good thing. Reason auto-connects the devices, and that's that. But at the same time it diverts people's attention away from Reason's true poten...

Re: If you could ask Reason Studios one question...
I'd ask them one single question: "Why?!". This may sound crazy (I suppose it somewhat is) but the reasoning behind it is that their answer (if it's really honest) would give us some very interesting look into what's currently most on their mind wrt. their customers. For example... If they'd respond...

Re: Where did the Propellerheads I/ we loved disappear to?
Maybe they are changing into something more streamlined and mainstream in the overall, but there's also plenty of good stuff to be found. Last weekend my PC crashed, badly . Basically the SSD stopped working and that was that. Within one second it deemed itself completely empty and if you try to wri...

Re: Where did the Propellerheads I/ we loved disappear to?
I'm a Reason User since 4 and I used my friend's Reason at his house since 1.0. To me, up until recently, Propellerheads always seemed like family. The user community lived in harmony with the company. A grassroots concern who genuinely cared. A place with people who could always be relied upon to ...

Kong, it's so easy and versatile.. But as of late I've also been experimenting a lot with Maschine and that's something else as well.

Re: Automating Cables
If you leave us to guess what your interpretation of this is... how should we know? I don't get it to be honest because I can already control one instrument directly from the other using the currently available CV setup. Heck: I can even automate a device within the sequencer and then use those sign...

No offense intended but I do feel free here to also out somewhat more critical comments. Not because it could be argued that "you weren't ...

Re: Synapse Audio - The Legend - Appreciation Thread
I couldn't agree more! After I upgraded to Reason 10 (now approx. 3 months ago) I also bought into several RE's to "complete" my setup, including the Synapse bundle. Which included this monster; best. buy. ever. ! True (dumb?) story: I basically bought that bundle purely & solely because of the Syna...

Re: The Echo in Reason 11 sounds different ??? Bug?
Hmm.. first, no offense, but that's definitely not a favorite preset of mine ;) The initial delay makes it kind of awkward to play this, at least for me. Anyway, I loaded up Kong, then this patch and I picked the Classic 808v3 as my Kong patch. I don't have Reason 11 (anymore) so I can't compare but...

Re: Advice on where to start [Reason 9 -> Reason 11 suite upgrade]
Just get started
I made a somewhat similar jump when I went from Reason 6 to 10 and grabbed several RE's separately. Wel, I'd say just get your hands dirty. Like you said, there's just too much to cover.
And of course it also depends on your eventual goals, music genre, etc.

Is this about the Props only or BF in general? Because I'm quite happy, picked up Komplete 12 collectors edition with a 50% discount. Includes NI's full orchestra ensemble, which made me very happy

Scarlett 8i6 has the lead for the final decision, mainly because NI's asio drivers don't seem to work and also important: The NI ASIO drivers have been corrected, just to make sure I also updated my post to reflect on this. I'm not sure exactly what happened but this week I downloaded the firmware ...

Re: Using Reason Suite 11 REs in Reason 10
If you buy the new R11 Suite and install everything will everything show up in R10 too? One way to find out, I think they will because the differences don't appear to be that extensive. As in: there don't seem to be that many real R11 only devices yet. For example: Scenic was released with R11 and ...

Re: Why Hardware beats Software.. // Why Go Dawless?
Interesting video. Although I definitely agree with @bitley above I also think that he did a good job explaining his drive in the overall. And the funny thing is that in my opinion his video basically demonstrated why - for me - the DAW world is a much better one. That starts at 6:55: " being ill-eq...

Yups, that's the main idea; a completely unfiltered signal. It is possible to simply skip some filtering (same applies when using subtractor btw) but usually a clean signal is easier to work with.

Re: Q: Can I run Reason 10 with a Reason 11 license?
As far as I am aware, owning a r10 lite means you only own that iteration Upgrading to 11 standard only gives you access to 11 standard And the previous r10 lite it seems. I own a Reason 11 license (if I recall correctly it sort of auto-upgraded itself) and if I check the details I can see my upgra...

[Shell review] Modular 'Ammo' with Jiggery Pokery Sound
Hi gang! Editorial The one thing which made me plain out fall in love with Reason and its unique workflow was that strong sense of modularity; I can set up my rack in any way, shape or form that I want to. And the best part is that this attention to detail is pretty much reapplied to almost every Re...
