Re: Is anyone entering the tobtok remix challenge? My work in progress

Alright... I may or may not make it public later, but here is my taker on it. It was doifficult to make the stems fit within my style but I reckon I did a decent enough job, innit? :) https://soundcloud.com/phillip-o/tobtok-new-levels-phillip-o-remix/s-G7C4qcRzWv1 Really digging this one. Re: Is it just me, or does Mid Scooping sound really good?

Is there any logic or science behind this? Or is it pure taste? I haven't been using an EQ in such way before. But I feel like I can't go back now. When I take the midscoop off the sound, suddenly it sounds jarring and feels like the mids are pushed way too high. This doesn't seem to work on organi...

Re: Is anyone entering the tobtok remix challenge? My work in progress

I ended up throwing out most of what I'd been trying to do for a week, rebuilding from the ground up with some drumloops, and the rest suddenly fell into place. The stems were kind of janky and I ended up doing a lot...

Re: Where to get started?

Oof, sounds like I'm in for quite a ride then. This is, at least, sort of a long term goal and nothing I expect to get done quickly.

Where to get started?

I'm teaching myself to code (mostly Python and JS) and for a long time have been interested in making some sort of audio apps or plugins, but it's always felt over my head. Eventually I'll just have to bite the bullet and go for it, but I'm not sure what I'll need to learn. It looks like I'll need t...

Re: PX7 - Removed from Shop?

I'll admit, if they had announced the imminent removal of PX7 ahead of time I probably would've bought it. I came close to picking it up several times, but I had a solid 8 years, so it's my own fault. 😊 I managed to buy it from the rewards shop like a week before it vanished. Was scrolling through ...

Re: Your proudest musical moment of 2020

First post here, I've lurked a bit and signed up a while back, and had a similarly unused account on a previous incarnation of this forum, I think. Anyway, proudest moment of 2020 is getting this track featured on the soundtrack for the DEF CON 28 hacking/infosec conference. They had to do everythin...
