[SOLVED] Just out of curiosity, what's the growl patch heard in the PX7 presentation video?
I know this question may sound a bit silly, as PX7 was discontinued and replaced with the new Algoritm synth. But... Sometimes I like to rewatch the old Reason Studios videos just for fun, and the growl sound heard at 0:39 in the PX7 video really caught my attention: [media]https://youtu.be/DiJ5cdlV...

You probably connected your devices to the wrong input of the combinator. The same thing happened to me months ago.

Re: Rack Extensions SDK - Build issue
That's weird because python.exe isn't in that folder? Are you on Python 3? If Python 3 is struggling, you might want to try python 2.7 as an alternative, you just change the method to: py -2 build45.py local45 Testing Can you also just confirm that you are using VS2017 and your command prompt is th...

Re: Rack Extensions SDK - Build issue
You can ask your question at https://www.reasonstudios.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=31 where the Reason Studios staff can help you with your problem as it may be a defect of the new SDK 4.1. EDIT: Btw, have you tried creating the "RackExtensions_Dev" folder and rebuilding the project? That forum se...

Rack Extensions SDK - Build issue
After almost a week I finally got access to the developer tools and downloaded the Rack Extensions SDK. I already had Visual Studio and Python, so the only thing I had to install was Reason Recon (I haven't installed the GUI editor yet, but if I'm correct it's not required). Before starting to creat...

Re: Zero attack compressor - What did I do wrong?
This might be a bit off-topic, but what are the requirements to develop a Rack Extension? Besides an IDE that supports C++, do you need SDKs and stuff like that? Yes, the process is described here: https://www.reasonstudios.com/developers (at the bottom of the page) You create a business entity, re...

Re: Zero attack compressor - What did I do wrong?
I have just checked it, and it really does affect both inputs. So you can calm down, the input gain and the threshold knobs are interchangeable in your case where the signal is the same. If you say so... But what version of Reason are you using? I use R10 (see signature), and maybe it can differ de...

Re: Zero attack compressor - What did I do wrong?
You raised the gain of the input signal, not of the side-chain signal, which is now triggering the compressor. in fact, i expect the sound just to be much louder without any compression. Well... this was me when I realized that: https://i.snipboard.io/N58Wa0.jpg?nocache=1579106719468 As I can recal...

Re: Zero attack compressor - What did I do wrong?
The Threshold is pretty high (or low, depending on the viewpoint ), probably the Compressor does not react at all. I raised the input gain of the compressor in order to bring the incoming signal over 0db, which is where the threshold is set. I thought the signal would have stopped there immedi...

Zero attack compressor - What did I do wrong?
First of all, there's an older post that's very similar to this, but it's from more than 3 years ago, so I preferred creating a new post. Yesterday I was watching the same video mentioned in that old post. The title is a bit misleading, since the video actually explains how to create look ahead and ...

What is your go-to device for drums, and why?
I mean, there are so many ways to add drums to your project in Reason: Kong, Redrum, NN samplers, synth drums, or even just drag-and-dropping samples into an audio track. The question is basically in the title: what is your favorite method for adding drums and why would you pick it over the others? ...

Question about frequency modulation in Europa
I'm a bit confused about the FM modifiers in Europa's engines. While we all know that they use the oscillator's waveform as carrier, I still haven't found out what's being used as modulator. Is it the osc waveform again? Or a specific wave, such as a sine?

Re: (Electronic metal) - Mechanical Mayhem
At the time I had very little mixing/tweaking/production knowledge so I did what I could. A lot of it is just presets, mostly from Thor, lots of synth layering and synths going through Scream4 to get a distorted sound. Some drums might be layered as well, I'm thinking the snare mostly. Everything i...

Which patch was used here?
In the Quad Note Generator announcement video, there's a sound at 3:16 that kinda resembles an electric guitar. Using the Alligator as a simple filter
I'm not sure if it has been already done before, and I hope not, but I was messing around with the Alligator and I discovered a way to turn it into a simple LP/BP/HP filter, in order to avoid using the MClass EQ just for a simple cutoff. After dragging the Alligator under your device(s), flip the ra...

Re: How to route Kong pads to different SSL channels?
Also how do you mean distortion when panning? Pretty sure that shouldn't happen! Apparently it happens ONLY with particular Kong patches. When I first tried, I used the 808 patch "Hard Eight", and when I changed the panning some hits sounded slightly distorted. I tried later with some other kits an...

Re: How to route Kong pads to different SSL channels?
It's the same with Kong, but you have to select the correct outputs on the bottom of "show drum and fx" for each pad. If you want 16 mono outs, you have to pan each pad hard to one side. For example: Pad 01 (panned hard left) --> Main Output L/R Pad 02 (panned hard right) --> Main Output L/R Pad 03...
