Re: Thinking of going to Logic Pro from Suite

I too moved to Logic a while back and I'm really not regreting it. Reason has always been slow and clunky on my mac, whereas logic is super smooth. The freeze function alone makes it worth the switch.

Re: Pre triggering samples

The thing is that I want to use this in a live context. I want Reason to be aware that I'm going to hit the pad before I actually hit it. But it needs to know that I definitely am going to hit it and at exactly which time. I'm aware that changing my mind at the last minute could have quite dire cons...

Re: Pre triggering samples

Just to clarify, I realise that it is normal to trigger a sample before it is played, but in this case I want to trigger it after it is played.

Re: Pre triggering samples

So if I set the position in nn19 to the end of the sample, I can hit the pad on beat two and this will trigger the sample on beat one (the previous beat)?

Re: Pre triggering samples

Thank you guys, but I really want to try to achieve this in a very specific way. If I was to reverse the sample, would this perhaps enable me to trigger the sample before I hit the pad? To be be more specific, I want to trigger the sample from its end rather than its beginning.

Pre triggering samples

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a sample which is a kind of whoosh sound that increases in volume and then terminates in a snare hit. I want to hit my midi pad at the point where the snare hit occurs but I want it to trigger the sample before then. How can I do this?

Re: Reason vs. the competition: make it competitive again

I personally came back to Reason after many years away. I dropped quite a lot of money on bits and pieces. Maybe it was nostalgia. There are certainly things in Reason that are good, but in the end it just falls down on so many fundamentals. Yes it’s possible to make good music with Reason, but ofte...

Re: Synth vs. Rompler The Low down Pros & Cons

Synths every time. Infinitely more creative IMHO. Most of the sound sculpting in romplers come from envelopes, filters, effects and other synth elements. I also feel that there is a danger of pretending to be what we are not rather than capitalising on new possibilities. Having said that, I do use r...

Re: Reason 11.2 is here!

Maybe some people to learn to differentiate between fact and opinion. The Reason Rack Plugin is not a fantastic idea, it is only a fantastic idea in their opinion. For example, if you purchased Reason as your primary DAW, or if you've invested all your money in Reason and can't afford a second DAW, ...

Re: Reason 11.2 is here!

It's quite interesting that having spent several hundred pounds on software and upgrades that asking for a serviceable sequencer, a usable interface and many of the other basic functions, which are already part of several cheaper (or even free) DAWs, is considered whining. Of course, we always have ...

Re: Track Freeze Options

I eventually solved this by increasing the buffer size. Silly really - Should have thought of this before whining. Did I already post this? Who am I? Where's my tea? I remember when it was all fields around here. On a supplementary note, Can anyone guess why Scuffham’s S-Gear (Demo)VST might not be ...

Re: Track Freeze Options

To be honest, (and not meaning to sound like a prat) I'm running a pretty high spec machine, but this piece has an obscene number of tracks and a ridiculous number of VSTs. It wasn't until I started adding multiple instances of Amplitube that it started to glitch a little. The sad thing is that I kn...

Track Freeze Options

As you probably know, Logic and most modern daws have had a freeze option for many years now. By hitting the freeze button on a track, all instruments and effects are deactivated and a bounced audio file is played back in their place. This all happens behind the scenes and the track sounds exactly t...

Re: Neil Young says that the MacBook Pro has “Fisher-Price” audio quality and calls it “a piece of crap”

I think it's apples and oranges if you'll excuse the pun. I've been abroad for the past few weeks. Before going, I downloaded everything onto my MacBook Pro and also packed a pair of Sony noise-cancelling headphones. This has enabled me to sit in coffee shops and doodle for hours on end. The Macbook...

Re: What is the ONE feature you'd like to have in the future version of Reason ?

Track folders
Hide tracks and channel strips
Freeze tracks (Like Logic)
Scalable UI
Custom colour for tracks/channels
A more modern looking sequencer (Like studio One)

But mainly track folders

Refills for Kong

Hi Guys,
I was wondering it there were any multi-sampled (velocity layered) acoustic drum refills for Kong that operate a little like the Toon Track plugins.

Unpopular Opinion: With the departure of Syd Barret, Pink Floyd went from one of the most creative bands in history to a fair to middling prog(ish) rock band.

Very interesting. How did you get that bass sound? I get so confused by genres nowadays. Could this be called hardcore?
