Re: Reason remotemap & codec docs
Oh I see - mode is user defined in the codec and not a value from the remotemap.

Re: Reason remotemap & codec docs
What additional info do you expect? The most immediate I have seen is what valid values can go in 'scale' and 'mode' Scale is only used with Delta-value controls - it allows you to scale the increment/decrement by a factor. Mode is only used with control items that can show output data, e.g. LED me...

Reason remotemap & codec docs
Hi, I have been trying to find some documentation on the remotemap format and can't seem to find much anywhere. Best I have really found is: RemoteSDK_Win_1.2.0/Docs/Reason Remote Support.pdf and some blog articles ( https://reasonstudios.com/blog/control-remote/ https://www.soundonsound.com/techniq...

Re: Reason Studios shares their roadmap
Big thing for me would be selector knobs for the combinator (for stuff like choosing between a filter type, redrum pattern, osc, etc) patches would also be nice. Bigger editor would be handy. CV labels (so I know CV1 is something). Copy paste in the programmer More tools for CV stuff would be nice -...

Re: POLL: VST3 or QOL Priority? What would you have rather seen first?
I'd be okay with VST2 supporting midi in/out, but really VST3 would be fantastic due to the number of free/opensource plugins that are VST3 only. Unless we get a complete overhaul/rethink of reason as a DAW I can't imagine any quality of life improvement really making a bigger difference than openin...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
Or folks might spend their time actually pirating the software, which would be: cracking the protection protocol and sharing it on torrents, downloading and using said cracked software, or selling it cracked. I just wanted to be clear: clicking past a manufacture created nag screen indefinitely is ...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
I think the point is Cockos doesn't take the extra step to lock you down because that's annoying, and futile. It's also recognition that folks might not spend all their time evaluating the second they install. Everyone else requires you sign up, give your email away, etc only to give you a very rest...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
It feels like a wordprocessor turned into something for audio to me. That's one thing that attracted me to reaper - it seems like the emacs of DAWs. I used it until the previous version. I even had the nerve to state on the Reaper forum that I did not liked the sound of Reaper, compared to other DA...

Re: Moving to Reaper from Reason
I have been testing Reaper out and my main gripes so far has been: keeping track and finding the window I want. It was bad enough in reason when you were trying to see two VST instruments but now that's the case for every instrument and effect! Further just seeing everything in a single window (like...

VST plugin management
Are there any tools (on windows) for managing VSTs? I find it can be a real pain keeping track of the dll's, removing a specific vst (lot of the dlls have weird names), determining what's 32 bit (since a lot install a 32 bit version which is obviously useless) etc. It wasn't long before things becam...

Re: Has VST-support ruined Reason?
Well, technically it's not free, by pay what you want (which can be $0.00). I make the odd donations to developers who offer this, even when I haven't used it for years as what they create is valuable, and if we all blow a daily load on fast food, coffee, and lots of other things ;) Fair point. I r...

Re: Reason 11 - only VST2.4? Not VST3?
How many more things like that will it take for RS to take notice? I'm sure props is well aware that VST3 support is needed and i'd be shocked if it's not being actively developed. VST3 is a big feature and it's not going to happen overnight and if you remember VST support in reason was initially p...

Re: Has VST-support ruined Reason?
Nah, not ruined Reason. Reason is special nonetheless. If you - as an musician / producer - want to write tracks just with Reason 1 - 5 devices; you still can. I have an empty template just running on those devices (i also have few computers running the old versions, but that's another story). Just...

Re: What are your must have Rack Extensions?
Expanse Hyperwave Synthesizer - really solid synth. Not worth the $200 in my opinion but it's good. Hmm, not updated on its current price, but Expanse full price on release was $149 and with an intro offering of $119 iirc, which is fair imho compared to synths like i.e. Serum, Spire, or Sylenth1. Y...

The issue I have with this is while you can program longer than 16 step patterns I can't for the life of me figure out how to view more than the first 16 steps in the pattern view https://www.audiorealism.se/uploads/4/5/5/4/45545237/_1605283_orig.png Drives me nuts and I end up either automating th...

Re: Has VST-support ruined Reason?
My feeling however is reason will ditch the daw aspect in a couple years and focus on just being a really unique VST. Reason as a daw is just so far behind the competition and there is probably more money in being just a VST - I mean $400 is a pretty good deal for the number of instruments and effe...

Re: Has VST-support ruined Reason?
VST2 works fine in Reason as far as everything I need from it, but what I really wish is that it would support VST3. Seeing as how RRP is a VST3 itself, I can’t imagine it being that difficult for RS to implement. VST3 is becoming more and more of a annoyance - lot of new VST's are now VST3 only an...

Yeah where the heck is this update. God it's been months. They said after 11 was released, don't worry about the lack of features 'cause point updates will be coming then something (as in this gui update) hold things up. Last major release (was it?) the optimisation of the vst (which yeah was very ...

Re: Hardware Subtractor (Poll)
Give me a hardware box that hosts combinators AND has 8 macro knobs and we're talkin' . https://hackaday.io/project/160858-vstibox Since Reason runs as a VST now i'm guessing it would work. I don't get the hardware synth's hype. I mean playing live you need to turn knobs and re patch cables between...

Re: Reason 12 Wishlist
With the sequencer falling well behind the major DAWs, I wouldn't be shocked if they slightly updated the current sequencer and simultaneously introduced a brand new stand-alone sequencer. This would be possible with the RRP, and would follow the path of Record being available alongside the origina...

Re: Reason 12 Wishlist
Honestly just give me something that makes organising a project easier. Songs just end up with way too many tracks, midi, and rack devices so finding what you want becomes a massive pain and I wonder if adding that build up effect or experimenting with a new part is worth the x number of new midi tr...

if you want to access the menu bar at the top then press the alt key then press the down key separately and use left and right to go to the other menus. Yeah - this is exactly where I got. Audio doesn't pass through either. It's a shame this doesn't even work in a round about way. what version of linux/wine/carla are you running? thejustinwalsh mentioned about maybe routing the audio to using the carla patchbay Wine 5.7 and the latest Carla. I play...
