Re: What effects are in your Master Section?
It turns out Ozone isn't a plug-in. It has a plug-in, but it also has an app. I'll be using the app. I'm so glad you said this (and everything else in this entire comment + your other comment about the differences between free Imager and Ozone's Imager module) because I completely forgot to mention...

Re: What effects are in your Master Section?
my Reason template project has Ozone (mastering) -> Tonal Balance Control (to keep the rough master settings in the ballpark) -> Insight (loudness metering). Those last two, I usually don't touch until my song is almost finished. Hey Kevin, I am a big izotope user because my mixing and mastering sk...

Re: What effects are in your Master Section?
I've started to ask this question several times and just never got around to it. Glad you brought it up. I use iZotope products and like to rough master as my songs progress (can't help it, my ears are just that way) so my Reason template project has Ozone (mastering) -> Tonal Balance Control (to ke...

Re: CEO's 2021 review
I haven't read this full thread (sorry, my attention span is short) so apologies if this has already been said, but... I don't use Reason enough to be a + subscriber, but I do buy each upgrade as a way to support product development. I haven't done the math on Reason+ versus perpetual upgrades, but ...

(Rock--ish) Eleven/Twenty
This is a song I wrote and produced last year. The theme and tone were based on what I was witnessing in an obviously traumatic year in the U.S. Anyway, I'm about to start an a project in a similar musical style with roughly the same instrumentation, and would appreciate any feedback I can get. This...

Re: (Indie Pop) Federland [Concept Album]
This is really, really great work. It's like a modern symphony, to me. Even before I visited your website to learn more, the contrast between the violinist and your compositions and instrumentation (and "destruction") stood out to me as special. Great work, I look forward to listening to it even mor...

Re: (newage muzak) more than a remix
Oh, don't even think twice about posting it when you did. I haven't been very active in this forum (I've lurked, I admit it) but it seems to me this is exactly why everyone is here, to get ideas from each other. Like I said, it's all subjective and personal taste anyway. I did something similar to t...

Re: Streaming to remote desktop on a laptop
You bet, and I hope you'll share the results. I may actually give your idea a try this summer on my laptop for the same reason you described. The setup I described above is really just me switching from an 8 year old desktop to a new desktop, so I can remote into the old desktop when I realize I for...

Re: (newage muzak) more than a remix
What a great idea for an exercise, and the results are indeed interesting and the new version sounds really good. The composition seems to have held up over 20 years, which of course is a compliment. I like how much more polished/mastered the new version sounds. If you're looking for feedback (and y...

Re: (Hip Hop) IDIOLECT - Subterfuge
Man, first of all congrats on completing this album. That's a long, dedicated timeline, and it paid off from what I'm hearing. I've only jumped through the tracks for now, but there is a ton of material with layers of creativity. I'm hearing some throwbacks to old school hip-hop in a good way, broug...

Re: Streaming to remote desktop on a laptop
You can do what you're considering using the usual Windows Remote Desktop application, or (better) if you have Windows 10, the Windows 10 version of Remote Desktop that you can find (for free) on Microsoft Store. In fact, I just tested it to be sure and my latency wasn't as bad as I expected, or wha...

Re: How to view missing VSTs?
I had the same issue opening a project on my laptop while traveling. I try to only use VSTs that can be activated on more than one machine (iZotope products, free plugins, etc.) until the final stages of a project where I fully commit to my desktop machine. That’s because sometimes I’m not great abo...

Re: Browser Returns To Top Level When Dragging Effects into Rack or FX Return
I know it's been a while since this question was posted, but I just found the solution in another thread and am putting this here for others to find: Turn off "New devices get Browse Focus" Preferences. Seems like an odd way to describe the setting, but deselecting it fixes the annoyance of the brow...

Re: Plugin Cataloguer Free
I don't personally have a need for this *at the moment*, but what you've put together is really nice and well done. If I eventually do have a need for it, the feature set as-is works perfectly. Cool idea, and thanks for sharing it with the community!

Re: Re-import Audio Asset in Sequencer
Thanks for helping but I ended up doing the work manually. What I wanted was to replace the entire top clip with a new version of the .wav file while retaining the edits that were made previously. Ignore the second track, that one's irrelevant. Example: 1) The track that contains eleven-twenty_DrumE...

Re: Re-import Audio Asset in Sequencer
I don't think I was very clear in how I explained my question. So the old drum track (mixed down to a stereo .wav in a different, drums-only Reason project) looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/S4FDnmg.png The razor points in the track are where I cut up the original drum track and re-arranged it as...

Re-import Audio Asset in Sequencer
I have a sequencer audio track, a drum mixdown, a single stereo track within my song. This track was mixed in a separate Reason project because my system can't handle everything in my song plus the 10-plus tracks I have from the stems provided to me by the drummer. In the process of changing the arr...

Re: PC randomly shuts down
Heat is a good guess, and I’ve also had this happen when a power supply was about to go bad. Even though CPU usage was low, playback in Reason is naturally going to increase the load on the PC, both heat and power.
Could also be a bad stick of RAM which is harder to diagnose.
