Re: Rebirth Emulation

I’m sure ‘horrific’ is the wrong adjective there.

Re: Assuming there's going be one, what you think is coming in Reason 13?

The fad aspect is people being excited by it. Of course every cheap ass marketing company is going to use this stuff forever more rather than pay an illustrator. And of course it will get ‘better’ but I wager it will always look a bit shit and people will more and more seek out images created by hum...

Re: Pigments 5 Update

I spent a whole evening starting with the ‘3030’ preset , changing the oscillator to analogue and the filter to the multi mode so it sounded like a very convincing 303 and banging out generative acid lines with the sequencer. Very nice!

Anyone tried the exploration bundle which comes free for new owners and at a lower price for already owners?
The last thing I need is more Arturia presets, lol. There are millions already and they are always totally oversaturated with fx.

I had to stop using it because it was becoming such a cpu hog. Looking forward to getting back into it. Seems to be running a lot better.

Re: Any news on new stuff for reason?

We are so acclimatised to having new products shoved in our faces every five minutes! And then get antsy when there is no new thing. It could be viewed in a positive light. You have the best version of the thing you like already no need to spend any money atm.

Have a combinator with as many instances as you like for each sound you want to play at once

you would need a “Transpose” for each individual note, right?
Not necessary. What kind of drum machine is this with such a range of notes across octaves?
The drum machine’s midi map is not chromatic. The notes it needs to receive are all over the place so need to be defined .

Re: Gates to notes

I mean the gate has to trigger a specific note. The external drum machine has fixed notes for each sound , I need to assign those specific notes

CV Player Tap converts Propulsion gates to midi.
Does it let you assign the midi notes it outputs though?

Gates to notes

If I have a sequencer such as Propulsion with multiple gate outputs is there a device that converts to user defined midi notes? If I want to have Propulsion control an external midi drum machine that has fixed midi notes defined for example.

Re: Yamaha SEQTRAK

It’s weird that Yamaha would come out with this rather than something more like their QY range. Fair enough TE have carved their own path of form over function but I don’t know why anyone would want to follow them down it.

I'm a terrible player and will be for a long time (maybe forever) but god this guitar and my bass are turning out to be fun purchase of the year status
Remember to practice actual playing as well as noodling around with fx! It will remain fun for longer if you get less terrible. 😉

TR08 clock sync

Just tried hooking up my Roland TR08 over usb to Reason 12. Got the channels all working fine with the TR working as the asio sound card. But when I went to select the TR as the midi clock destination it threw up an error, unknown exception. I could have the TR as the master clock but then the Reaso...

Maybe the gatekeepers just don’t think a request involving trying to pay less for their devices is worth passing up the chain.

Re: One for the guitarists

There are various pitch shifting pedals for guitar. Boss Octaver is a popular one. The latest model has polyphonic detection and and isolate just the bass strings to pitch shift. Sometimes people will tune the E string lower to get lower notes. You can get Baritone guitars with longer necks and lowe...

I would guess that the Korg Re.s are effectively abandonware and person at Korg who set them up probably left years ago and no-one else has a clue.

You have to connect the player to a midi out device and route the midi to a new track in your host DAW and record in real time.

You can probably do a decent SEM with Thor’s state variable filter.

Price seems pretty reasonable to me. If that’s what you’re after. Plenty of instruments will charge you a grand just to get in the door.
