Re: Monitors > 34" UW vs 32" 4K

An other thing to consider is finding the correct placement for the speakers especially when using a ultra wide monitor. You must then move further away to have the correct listening position but then it's also getting more difficult to see the small objects on the monitor. You could move the speake...

Re: Monitors > 34" UW vs 32" 4K

Wouldn't use any of those mentioned. I use a 32" 1920x1080 full HD monitor and never have those scaling issues. If I ever is going to use a 4k it must be at least a 43" else objects getting way to small and must be enlarged. And why use a monitor where you have to enlarge applications ? Many older a...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived

Are you saying you got rid of the blurring in Reason 12 compared to previous versions? Checked NVIDIA settings. Clicking on the program settings tab made it crash and because it opens with that tab now, it crashes instantly after opening :-D Guess I have to update first if there is any available, r...

Tip:
If eg. using FXAA (on) in global 3D Nvidia settings, then graphic details getting blurred in R12.
Thise settings is normal used for games but now also applies for R12. ;)

It's serious bullshit that you can't use a game rig for Reason. If you have proper hardware, that is not a problem at all.
You can run whatever you want on your DAW system.
But be careful to only blame the DAW software for being the problem. ;)

Actually I am also running games on the same computer.
But I am then booting and running the games on an other SSD.
I won't take that chance on my DAW SSD.

It's not always a Reason issue.

Problems and issues can easily arise from some other installed software. A good role is to keep the DAW computer as clean from other installed software as possible. Remember to uninstall old unused programs and drivers etc. Worst case is using the DAW computer for running games. Some times it's also...

Re: Increased fan noise with Reason 12?

I have this fan noise shortly eg. when open the RRP.
It's properly the graphic card doing some initializeing work
when opening rack synths.
The GPU shows a short spike in the performance monitor
but the CPU seems to be unaffected.

Re: Hardware or soft synths

I can’t afford the amount of hardware I would need to have the same creative freedom I have in software. A good point you have. I have collected my hardware synts over many years and some from before the CPUs was powerfull enough to make software synths. And the sound quality was terrible on the fi...

Actually I also own a copy of the old "Korg Legacy Collection V1.0" wich have a excellent VST sound emulation of the old Korg synts. It have this dedicated ms20 controller to manage the ms20 VST.(84% scale MS-20 replica) Note: this was long before they made the new smaller hardware version of ms20. ...

Re: Reason 12 has arrived

Just bought R12 update (from Thomann) today and it seems to work well. Before the update I was checking the CPU in the performance monitor running a ongoing project and using the RRP i BitWig. Now after the update and running the same project, it seems that it using a little less CPU :o Have any oth...

Re: New Pricing for Reason 12 - Upgrades now 199 from 129

Considering buying upgrade before price change I have questions:

Does an summarized list of RS reported issues and problems exist for R12 ?

If only using the RRP is R12 now acceptable to use ?

Re: Hardware or soft synths

Through the years I have collected some old and new synths but for the time being I mostly use the softsynths in my DAW. I am not a big performance or keyboard player and think I can create more varying sounds through the soft synths. I also have an old modular synth (euro rack) but when creating a ...

Re: Bitwig vs Ableton in general and as a host for Reason Rack Plugin

I use Ableton and love using the RRP in it but one thing to be aware of is that if you create audio in your session and want to drag that onto Grain or Mimic etc it does not allow, whereas I think Bitwig does allow this. You can drag existing WAVs from your own or the Ableton library onto them but ...

Interesting.
Maybe it's only the "fun" factor and "hands on" factor.

Remember I saw a article long time ago, wrote someting about
soft synths would properly replace hardware synths in the future.

Hardware or soft synths

Indeed an recurring question: Why is hardware synths still selling good when many of todays computer software synths have so good quality? Is it because of the buttons and knobs then a computer DAW usually have a controller of some sort, with the buttons and knobs? Maybe I can understand pure analog...

It's a great move by Reason studio now is opening up. No more dark speculation and guesses on what RS is and is not working on. I think those speculations and guesses some times have done more harm than good for RS. (now of course there is a lot of complains of whishes not on the list) ;)

Re: Bitwig vs Ableton in general and as a host for Reason Rack Plugin

After about a month with Bitwig I am just blown away. I have used many other DAWs but Bitwig continues to surprise me. One of many things is all the modulater tools where you can modulate almost everything (also in RRP). It's even possible to modulate a modulator. An other thing is the interactive h...

Re: Bitwig crossgrade for 40% off

I think Bitwig have a lot of those features people is asking for should be in Reason. One thing I have notice lately is the DSP performance using the RRP. It seems to me that Bitwig is using much less CPU, on the same Reason synths (RRP), than in Reason? Also if using same buffersize in audio settin...
