Yeah sounds do-able if they gave a crap.
Well therein lies the problem. And if they don't care about me, I don't care about them. No more votes, and as little tax revenue as I can get away with.

Re: Announcing Reason 11

Another person here who actually uses Rewire. I guess that means not only does it disappear from Reason but for other DAWs that use it (like Rewiring Live to Logic, which I do) it's a dead protocol and at some point it will stop working due to an OS change or something and then it will be unfixable...

Re: Announcing Reason 11

Question for the "we should get those features in Reason 10.5!" people. What's your threshold for keeping features to a new version number? This is not a simple question to answer. As a software developer, I know how much work can go into developing changes which may on the surface appear to be fai...

Re: Announcing Reason 11

The rack VST makes sense to me ... With that said, it's not what I would have hoped for ... As a Reason-only user My feelings exactly. I use Reason for everything and don't have another DAW. So I would have liked more sequencer improvements in a major version release. But I'll pay for the upgrade a...

Re: Climate Change

I think I am confusing two different things here. I found the original quote, and he said it was "a small corner of Texas (or anywhere) with solar panels could power the entire United States". The ranch thing must have been something else. Apparently Texas is 268,581 square miles. That means 12% of ...

The upgrade from 9 to 11 was well worth the $129 and the wait :D
Yeah, it seems skipping a version upgrade may be the way to go for core-DAW Reasoners, if they can be patient enough to wait. That's definitely some good bang for your buck.
I went from 6 to 10. It was amazing

Re: Announcing Reason 11

Just had it confirmed from props that Reason as a VST will not be compatible with Linux. That said, it might still be possible to get it working with a wrapper like WINE. Apparently it works for other Windows VSTs. I'll give it a try as soon as I get hold of it.

Re: Climate Change

Tesla as in Nikola Tesla? Because that "free energy" thing from the early 20th century was complete science fiction. If we're talking about Tesla as in Elon Musk, then I'd say solar panels and power walls are certainly one way to get free energy, after you spend tens of thousands of dollars on the ...

Re: Climate Change

Goes right along with governments & the oil industry. Government and business are the same thing. I'm not being hyperbolic or metaphorical. They are LITERALLY the same. The exact same people involved in both, meeting privately and arranging how to engineer things to work out best for both of them. ...

Re: Announcing Reason 11

Just a quick question as I don’t remember what’s happened in the past. With the release of 11 does that mean that there will be no future bug fixes and the like for 10? I assume so. That's what normally happens with software. I don't recall getting any updates for older versions after a new release...

Re: Climate Change

We are doomed eventually thanks to the fact that this planet is owned and run by corporations. CEOs only care about making their own lives better. They don't care what happens after they are dead. Just look at that count in charge of Brazil selling the rainforest to be burned down.

Aah never knew WINE worked on Linux. I thought it was only on Mac. That's cool. Yeah try first seeing whether it works on Bitwig Linux. If not try the WINE solution that's not a bad idea. Re: Announcing Reason 11

No not platform independant. I mean if you use it standalone then you'll be using the official Reason, which I don't think works on Linux. Whatever DAW you're using on Linux, if it handles VST3. Then I'm guessing there are high chances you could be using it on Linux. That's pretty cool actually... ...

Reason VST will be VST3. I'm guessing it should work as long as your DAW handles VST3.
Are VST3 platform independent then? I thought VSTs had to be specifically build for a platform architecture (i.e. Windows, MacOS etc). Is that not the case with VST3?

Re: Climate Change

At this point I think force is the only option. Governments are so tied in to corporations. Why would a government want to reduce carbon emissions when they are being paid billions by oil companies AND earning tax revenue on the use of fuel and energy? Politics is a rich man's game and none of them ...

I hope you guys know you're supposed to dilute the apple cider vinegar before drinking it. The important factors in this kind of music are rhythm and leaving space for vocals. Re: Climate Change

someone mentioned that “capitalism is the answer to climate change”, and I’d just like to point out that if that were true, it would’ve been solved 30 years ago. I think there can be a distinction between capitalism and consumerism, though the two seem inseparable in the world we live in. Consumpti...

That's quite hardcore thinking but to be honest, we need drastic changes. We need to take all this seriously. I'm currently worried about what I've seen on news about the Amazon forest fires. Well, it still did it when recording from source to an audio track.. So bounce it again and paste over the parts that clip - done!
