CV ITE (If-Then-Else)

Greetings everyone. Here is another logic/boolean-based Combi I made. Its designed to be used with high-speed rhythmic patterns, but I've stripped this one down so that its more open-ended and maybe a bit less overwhelming than my last submission : LOGOS-ITE.cmb LOGOS-ITE.JPG REs: Lolth CV Delay Spl...

Re: PQRS high-BPM "fractal" kick/bass logic muxer

You got my attention with the mention of the Mandelbrot Set and Fractals. I'm rally curious to try this out, but I don't have the Chronologists REs. I'm curious if they could be substituted with other REs that I do have. What exactly are those two REs doing in these Combis? My advice is to just buy...

Re: PQRS high-BPM "fractal" kick/bass logic muxer

Here is a link to a new demo video.

When I watch it on VLC there's sound. I also made a few mistakes/hiccups in the demo - I left those in just to demonstrate what controls do what.

Re: PQRS high-BPM "fractal" kick/bass logic muxer

Hey thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry about the video. the PQRS-INPUTS combi provides the actual gates. You output those gates to the LOGOS-MUX which performs all the splitting/logic operations, and the output from that goes to your drums/bass/synth etc. Due to the apparent lack of interest I have...

Re: PQRS high-BPM "fractal" kick/bass logic muxer

The video it's mute. I have some troubles understand where are the gates and cv out... perhaps you could upload a simple song file with stock devices connected or include them into a new combinator as well? It's pretty hard to decipher what's going on there... Hey thanks for the feedback. I'm sorry...

PQRS high-BPM "fractal" kick/bass logic muxer

pqrs-inputs.JPG logos-mux.JPG Here are two Combi patches I made which use boolean functions and propositional calculus to output rhythmically "harmonic" kick and bass. TL;DR - skip to the bottom for the download links - but have fun figuring out how to use these without explanation - a lot of the i...

Re: Euclid patches for binary prime numbers up to 65521

These are for Euclid, right? Not for Euclidean Rhythms, the Player? Or maybe they work in both? In any case, I own Euclid, the non-player, and I love it. Thanks! Awesome! Yeah they're for Euclid. I personally can't stand players. A bunch of the ones that I would love have only CV out, no CV in, and...

Wow! So cool. That's mighty Lectric Panda-like of you, not only to generate a bunch of patches automatically, but to share them with us. Thank you! Downloading now. Robotic Bean Euclid is one of the most underrated players in the shop (along with Static Cling AutoLatch). It's amazing what new possi...

Euclid patches for binary prime numbers up to 65521

I made a shell script in order to generate a few thousand Euclid patches which are rhythmic interpretations of the base 2 representations of prime numbers up to 65521 (the largest prime with 16 digits in binary). Why? Because I could. How? Each patch has a forced hit on any step corresponding sequen...

Optimizing Reason 12 for playing live

As the title says, I'm trying to optimize my laptop (a pre-M1 MBP on Catalina) for performing live with Reason 12. I'm looking for pretty much any trick that anyone can think of that might optimize performance given what I'm working with, mostly out of an abundance of caution rather than any particu...

Re: anyone else with Reason 12 OpenGL(?) issues/crashing/hanging

Postmortem: I re-applied all of my preferences, and started reinstalling the 374 REs I have, in groups of 2 developers at a time, and restarting Reason in between. By the time I was a little over halfway through these reinstalls, the big white document 1 window of death showed up for a full second a...

Re: anyone else with Reason 12 OpenGL(?) issues/crashing/hanging

Here's my stab in the dark to attempt to help... Thank you. Some part of this worked for me. Unfortunately I was so annoyed/desperate that I went a bit overboard but I'll try and document what I did as best I can... So I had already tried a fair amount of this (I'd deleted my program files folders ...

Re: anyone else with Reason 12 OpenGL(?) issues/crashing/hanging

Sorry for the bump... just wondering if anyone has heard of any solutions to this or an issue like it. Even the upgrade to 12.2.1 didn't fix it. Still no reply from support either, going on a month of radio silence. Should I just get a refund and give up? Do I have any other options or avenues avail...

anyone else with Reason 12 OpenGL(?) issues/crashing/hanging

Posting here b/c I opened two tickets with support and there's yet to be a solution, so just desperately trying to see if anyone else has had this (exact, or close to it) issue and been able to fix it. Re: CPU usage and R12 crashs

Looks like you don't have proper OpenGL drivers installed. Because all musicians want to be worrying about f***ing graphics drivers. This. So much f***ing this. But, complaining aside, b/c nothing will slow me down if I'm trying to get my DAW to work, I took that poster's advice and u...

Re: How would you rate the R12 upgrade? (Upgraders and R+ subscribers only)

Had to roll back to 11, so I guess this is a 1 for me.

This is the first time in troubleshooting a Reason update that I've been told to check GPU settings, of all things. I'm not playing vidya, I'm making music. Can we not...? Was Reason not pretty-looking enough before?

Re: CPU usage and R12 crashs

I just upgraded this morning, Reason 12 opens a solid white document with a search bar and file menu and that's it. Can't edit any settings since it won't open. Does this over and over, even as the only application running. Back to Reason 11 I guess.

Re: Shell interaction with Reason

https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/modify-xml-files-with-python/ should get you started. For more details on the format @rcbuse would be a good person to ask as he generated quite a few refills for REs (e.g.: https://forum.reasontalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7508389). This might help. Repatch files any XML library will most likely do the reading/writing part. So instead of shell scripts I'd rather directly start this task using python.
Is there an XML-specific editor you'd suggest?

Re: Shell interaction with Reason

Sorry, to be clear I'm mostly interested in modifying patch/RE patch files. Most of what I do is entirely in the rack and I don't touch the sequencer unless I have to, so if I can write changes to a patch file and then simply reload it, that'd be ideal. Whenever I've attempted to do this before thou...

Shell interaction with Reason

This is a really niche, navel-gazey question so apologies in advance if your reaction is "...huh?" Is there a way to interact with Reason or its files with shell scripts? Or python/perl etc. Actually developing REs is well beyond my skill set currently, but I know that patch files are generally json...

I know its not much consolation but i'm running the same suite version as you on a mac mini m1 with 11.4 and everything seems to be working fine. Yeah just my luck I'm on the final intel build of MBP. At this point I just really wanna know what that stupid error is. For it to persist verbatim acros...

Re: Reason 11.3 crashes on MacOS11.4 "Assertion failed: (px != 0)"

How bizarre! The only thing I could think is that Apple have updated your firmware as part of 11.4 and it somehow changes the way the CPU is handled and it's that which is causing Reason to crash now irrespective of macOS version. I would have expected more complaints in this forum and RS themselve...
