Re: Dynamic processing on drums separately or all at once?
There's really no rights and wrongs here, instead it comes down to what you want to achieve, which of course will differ depending on taste, genre etc :) In more technical terms as to WHY you would go with bus-processing or/and individual processing I think selig sums it up very well, but again, no ...

Re: Reason SSL Mixer Hardware Controller
Dang, thats a good discounted price for the ALPs encoders! Which specific encoder did you get your hands on? with the requirement for both the push and touch functions I think stepper motors are out of the discussion even if the price point would be about the same (which it might be if you compare a...

Re: Reason SSL Mixer Hardware Controller
In terms of running fast enough that shouldn't be a problem since it's essentially magnetic motors, they can most likely move quicker than you'd want them to, of course depending on which model one would chose. I've not really seen any audio products using "motorized" knobs either, not sure if it's ...

Re: Reason SSL Mixer Hardware Controller
Just dropping a brainstorm item in here. Could it be interesting to go a, maybe more unconventional way, and ditch the regular encoders and LED rings for them, and instead going for mini stepper motors? I'm thinking it would not only take down the complexity of design by combining two elements into ...

Re: Ultimate Reason PC Build
why not look into the ryzen 2 cpus? even if they have a slight hint of the problems that ryzen 1 had it'll still only be noticeable at extremely low latencies. It's a lot of cpu/$ compared to intel :) and about ram and adding on more at a later stage, it's really not that simple at all times. If you...

Re: Reason SSL Mixer Hardware Controller
yeah that's something I didn't realize about a project like this before I read this thread for sure! :) if you need any kind of help don't hesitate to shout. I know my ways around general system design and coding, and I'm also dipping my toes (as mentioned) into electronics and hw design. and i do r...

Re: Reason SSL Mixer Hardware Controller
This project is damn awesome! I've been researching this myself the last week, and how I could build something similar, just playing with the idea. Then I realized I'd read this thread before and my god the progress you've made! I might still do a similar but non modular thing myself just to learn a...

Re: Command 8 Mapping?
Now this is a proper zombie awakening!
In case anyone want to use the Command 8 for reasons master section I've created a remote mapping for it so it works almost out of the box.
