Edit samples with external editors

I would love to see an option to edit samples with external editor(s). Being able to use apps like Izotope RX, Wavelab/SoundForge, Melodyne, RipX etc. would open so much more possibilities when working with audio files. I hope it won't be too hard to implement and it will be considered at some point...

Re: Need help with Nektar Panorama P1

Thanks for the reply. The firmware is the latest version and both files for Reason are installed. I haven't tried factory restore because the controller is brand new and I haven't thought that something could be messed already. At this point there is no enough free time to get to know the P1 better...

Need help with Nektar Panorama P1

Hello Reason community! Recently I bought Nektar Panorama P1 but I stumbled upon a very weird behavior and I cannot find a way to fix it by myself. When I turn one of the encoders counter clockwise it triggers sustain message, no matter which instrument is selected. It basically makes this encoder u...

Re: Sampler vst recommendation

If you like Kong and don’t need additional instrument libraries, NI Battery would be perfect. It is very powerful and easy to use. For such tasks, Kontakt would be overkill - waste of money and time to learn it.

Same here! I just wish my dated laptop was doing better job rendering Reason's GUI, to be able afford more instances of it.

I just hope they will not abandon the RE ship.
They developed some of my favorite extensions.

Pay the rest of my R2O for “The Legend” (done), ”Complex-1” and buy “Quad Note Generator” and possibly “Buffre” :)

Re: [Wholesome topic] What do you LOVE about Reason?

1. Backward compatibility
2. Self contained
3. Easy sample management with refills
4. Easy to reinstall with sync RE
5. VERY robust
6. The CV and audio connectivity options
7. The look
8. The Rex files
... and so on and so on.
Actually almost everything with very few exceptions.

Re: what are the best other DAWs to consider?

My vote goes for Reaper - not very inspiring interface but unbelievably flexible, feature-rich and light on resources. Once a user get the very basic concepts it gets very easy to use. My second vote for all the old school tracker heads would be Renoise, which sadly still don’t support VST3 plugins....

Re: Nanostudio 2 is out

I loved the original but when it became unusable after IOS moved to 64bit I stopped using it. Bought few other programs while waiting for the sequel and then I postponed buying it after it was released. About a week ago I pulled the trigger and instantly remembered what I loved in the original versi...

Nanostudio is like my teenage dream came true! Intuitive and fast workflow, GREAT SOUNDING, and features that could rival some computer DAWs! I have (and like) Korg Gadget, Auria, Beatnaker and few others but I am not very productive with them. With Nano the ideas comes fast and the realization proc...

Re: Poly step vs Robotic Bean

RBS is much better for rhythm experiments and PSS is way ahead for harmonic experimentation. They are both great. The philosophy behind RBS is closer to my workflow so I use it more often (sometimes combined with Scales and Chords). RBS has one more thing that makes it a great investment - the devel...

Re: From mac to windows

Have a look at your sound properties in Windows. You can set the quality of the outputs and also turn on and off various headphone and speaker modes. The actual options vary depending on the audio card/chipset but mine offers to turn on "Windows Sonic For Headphones", whatever that is. I think you ...

I like them a lot. To my ears they are raw and beefy. Exactly what I think a sound generator should be. Modulate them, add filters and effects and serve :) But aren’t they all essentially the same? This link could be helpful. Brief explanation of possible purposes for the different devices. https:/...
