Re: Update Incoming? - New Player Device Spotted @ Superbooth!

Another device that directly competes with at least 2 RE's. Brilliant. There’s not a single rack device Propellerhead could create that wouldn’t cover some similar ground as other REs... there will always be some overlap with stock stuff and plugins no matter what DAW you use. Was there a stand alo...

Re: Making Rent with Reason!

Actually not so off topic come to think of it. Reason users who are making coin with the program, and their talent, consider that if you step your business up a little, the world is your oyster. Being location independent, only requiring a laptop and a pair of headphones, perhaps a portable controll...

who the hell bought guitars in (and from) the '80's, dude? That was like the biggest slump ever in worldwide sales in guitars, thanks to Roland, who almost killed rock music.

Re: Sad day - Gibson Brands Files for Bankruptcy

This is hardly surprising to me. Their quality standards have gone to garbage a long time ago (look on youtube for those people who dumpster-dive for unsellable but brand new Gibsons). Their ridiculous model releases made no sense commercially (Modern Flying V, please spare me!), the overall build q...

Re: Making Rent with Reason!

Lately, I've lost a lot of motivation doing this kind of work because it's not rewarding mentally, only financially. This is something that every creative person needs to reflect upon if they are monetizing their hobbies. What is ultimately more important, money or passion ? I choose not to be spec...

Re: What do Propellerhead staff do at work all day?

What is MIDI Out for anyway ? Using notes in the sequencer to trigger analogue hardware synths, or am I way off the mark ? My hardware only extends to 'dumb' controllers and guitars.

How many people are actually using MIDI Out with Reason ?

Re: What do Propellerhead staff do at work all day?

I'm not saying mp3 isn't useful. Im just saying it's dead as a format. The inventors of the format made that very statement that they're ceasing all activity on the format. To clarify, the Mp3 patent has expired. And it needs no further development. That's different to saying it's 'dead', when your...

Re: What do Propellerhead staff do at work all day?

My clients want both wav and mp3! This. So you work commercially as well, and your clients want MP3. This is the reality beyond people's assumptions and bias, who think there's no call for it. That's four people now, who have commercial requirements, who have identified the need for it. For me, the...

Just curious have you tried polar? You can pitch shift using stepped semitones Yes sir, I sure did. Since I actually own Polar, and am only trialled KhS. Re: Combinator Questions (Help Please)

Another more general disappointment that's unrelated to my project, is the animation of parameters, which I feel is very inconsistent. Let's say I plug an LFO in to sweep a filter, visually it does nothing. But when I hook it up in a Combinator and have the rotary control the sweep, I get the animat...

What about using Thor’s step sequencer in one shot mode and using the curve cv section? Wouldn’t that be like having the step values of a 3 point knob That's way outside of my understanding. Re: What do Propellerhead staff do at work all day?

Mp3 is a dead format. There's no point in going through the development cycle it takes to implement Sometimes we need to look outside of our own ecosystem for a more reliable indicator. While many members here are listening through high quality outputs like monitors or decent headphones, with ears ...

If you're a live performing artist and your set relies on you being able to play guitar chords with one finger and work controls with another, then there are ways around this. I've been enjoying this new song from a band called Stonefield.

Vintage as hell, dripping in 70's style stoner/acid/desert rock goodness, if you're into that sort of thing
