Where can I find the codec files? I wish we could create a generic MIDI mapping for any controller...
It's a basic 4 octave Miditech Midistart Music, by the way. Don't wanna throw it out cause the keys are still good.
Also, thank you for helping!

Re: Why isn't synthesis and sampling combined in Reason yet?
Oh, I read into your comment wrong and started thinking, there would be some trick... never mind. Now, thing is, when I exported a simple, perfectly tuned sound, the effect didn't really appear, not even with multiple instances, just after repeating the process. Depends on the waveform. Sometimes th...

Re: Why isn't synthesis and sampling combined in Reason yet?
If it can be done more easily, and re-triggered, I'm for it.
Though yeah, to achieve just that effect, live, I'm not sure if there are any stock Reason devices.

I'd prefer forgetting about sliders xD - #1 dust & fabric collectors. Most suicidal controller part.

Re: Any FIR Filters/Splitter/Crossover/Spectrum EQ for Reason?
Although they tend to ring with a square window, FIR filters are the best at isolating frequencies. ...and I prefer linear phase, clearly. It would be ideal for me, since I sample my own creations a lot, thus the latency it introduces is not a problem, since I'd do splitting with exporting bands. It...

Any FIR Filters/Splitter/Crossover/Spectrum EQ for Reason?
The title says it.
I'm afraid, most, or all are IIR. I almost went for Yoko Band Splitter, but I'm also looking for a FIR filter with square window.
Personally, I didn't find any clues to this.

Reason's solution to dying MIDI keyboards
Two of my keyboards had issues. The common one was mute keys. I prepared for months to repair it, but I was missing graphite spray for the... thingies that touch each other when you press a key - only to find out that the technology was dated, and thank god, both keyboards used a modern one, so all ...

Re: Envelope VS Automation
Carly, where could you change the range? Dunno if Reason has an option to increase the 127 limit to the 32 bit maximum value... Though for an encoder, the 127 range makes more sense. The super fine details would be more useful for a potmeter, or maybe touch. Cause encoders rotate endlessly. BUT! One...

Re: Why isn't synthesis and sampling combined in Reason yet?
What I'm looking for, seems to be what bsp said, too. Would be nice to have a Rack Extension or VST like that. Sounds interesting, bsp! All I can say, a pitch shifted sound and a detuned one might sound similar, but the effects that can be created will never be the same. Take a sample in NNXT, dupli...

Re: Envelope VS Automation
The internal resolution is perfectly enough. The problem is when we don't just tweak on-board knobs, but start modulating them. The knobs themselves. Be it with automation, or via the combinator's CV in. As you know, some jump huge steps with rotation, compared to the internal values. It's nowhere a...

Re: Envelope VS Automation
Now I have no clue why 32bf knob resolution would be that much of a drain, but I'll leave that to developers now.
I mean, I'm interested in what's under the hood, close to the core, but I prefer to focus on the creative part.

Re: Envelope VS Automation
Just the resolution of Reason's internal values would be enough. Say, as you said earlier, that some audio weirdness couldn't happen just because of 127 range only: why did it happen that my kick drum (where I separated the 20-40 Hz range to a wav file with a FIR filter, and square window, very high...

Re: Envelope VS Automation
Hold on, I was thinking about building a MIDI controller. Regarding the deltas, would that mean that Reason could handle very fine MIDI messages? Then again, it would be a catastrophe with an encoder, I think. I mean, if it would send out 0.00001 with one click - figures what time it would take to j...

Re: Why isn't synthesis and sampling combined in Reason yet?
I saw that Europa has it, too, though I just had a quick check after I installed my new Reason 10. <3 God bless Propellerheads for their super generous offer. I think the easiest way is sampling though. Say, Selig did you find a way to change the pitch of a sound live, once it's out of the original ...

Re: Patch creation & Beta
I'd be interested! I always designed the sounds of my own since 2005, including drums, sfx and always used basic analog signals, so worked from scratch. I don't develop RE's, but I know Reason enough that I'd take it apart if I could, heh. Mind you, I'm really good with messing up the safest devices...

Re: Envelope VS Automation
I didn't find any possibility to bypass a knob's resolution during automation. Though who knows, gonna (try) reading all the 1300 pages of Reason 10's Operation Manual soonish. Alright, now it makes more sense. I haven't perfectly experimented automating dynamics though! Hence the example was kind o...

Re: Envelope VS Automation
I enjoy taking time fine tuning things by the way and doing a lot of post work. Envelopes sure work in live situations better, but at the sacrifice of that, automating a super fine CV generator knob that modulates things via CV, opens much more possibilities at the same resolution. More of a sound d...

Re: Envelope VS Automation
I'm honestly confused how some devices' values work - while testing in the sequencer some show values up to 1000, yet 1 step starts at 4, so not like 1,2,3,4 etc. Now with the pitch bend, I'm surprised - I'm really getting confused by when even moving it with the mouse, it usually jumps values, yet ...

Envelope VS Automation (Now with CV, MIDI ...and drama)
Okay, so I'm pretty sure that if I use an envelope to modulate a filter for example, it will be much more detailed than when automating the filter frequency in the sequencer. Cause technically, most go from 0 to 127, while cv/internal routing seems to be far more than that. However, the reason why I...

Re: Why isn't synthesis and sampling combined in Reason yet?
I love Reason's possibilities, let me make that clear. However, I've grown to have desire for complete flexibility.
I mean, yes, responses usually say that Reason sort of has these features, but "sort of" means not exactly.
