Re: The Black Friday VST Sales Thread

U-He Zebra is now 30% off. It includes an upgrade to the upcoming 2.9 release scheduled later this year. U-He don't often do sales.

Seriously. Beautiful interface, well thought out functionality and Dan Worrall doing the video = pushing all my GAS-buttons.

And I have no need for this whatsoever. Or maybe I do...

Re: Can Rack Extensions control hardware?

Pretty much that. Though you dont have to be THAT much of an experienced programmer as lua is "just" a scripting language. You could even start by fiddling around with a standard codec where you can see the input and output Midi. OK, but as I'm really wondering about a small, easy project to dip my...

Re: Can Rack Extensions control hardware?

They can, if you write a special Remote Codec. Haven't tried but even Sysex should work. It won't be very timing stable though. For example, you could take a Newtron 16 from Hamu as a control surface, lock a Remote Codec you have written to send Midi to a port you setup in the preferences to it and...

You can not run a specific midi editor/library for an external synth as an RE.
But you can control external synths via normal midi and the 128 ContolChange messages from RE.
No sysex support.
Bummer, I wonder if they'll ever implement sysex support. It would be amazing.

Re: Can Rack Extensions control hardware?

I am specifically thinking of archiving and automating sound design parameters. There are VSTs that do this, but can Rack Extensions do this?

Can Rack Extensions control hardware?

I know a little bit about programming and often wondered if dipping my toes into rack extensions would be worth it. As an owner of a Juno-106, it would be amazing to have an Juno Editor as a rack extension. But I have the sneaky suspicion this is outside the scope of what Rack Extensions can do. Am ...

DiscoDSP OB-Xd 1.5

Downloaded the latest version (1.5) a few weeks ago but only got round to installing it this evening. The previous version felt a bit flakey and I never took to it. But this latest version, oh mama mia. It sound amazing. One of the best Oberheim emulations out there. The interface is still a bit spa...

Re: Softube won't be making REs anymore :(

Why in the world did they not split the EQs and Comp to make 3 distinctive plugins for better visualization and structure.. :wtf: That's the only RE I haven't purchased because of its 3-in-1 design... Haha, yeah. It does take up a lot of space. But I do find having the three together like th...

Re: Softube won't be making REs anymore :(

A developer abandoning RE as a platform is never a good thing. Don't understand people gleefully saying "I never liked them anyway". I have their Tube-Tech Classic Channel. Had I known at the time Kuassa made a similar EQ, I might not have gotten it. But as it is, I use the Tube-Tech all the time. M...

Thanks for getting back. Good grief. That's not a quick workaround. I may hold off for now on that one and submit a feature request to Arturia.

Use Remote instead of automation?

Much to my surprise (and annoyance), I can't seem to automate the "Brilliance" in Arturia's CS-80. But it can be modulated through MID remote. So here is the question. Is there a hack like some rack extension or VST that allows me to control an instrument using remote, or is that even possible in pr...

Re: Unsaved changes when nothing has changed

Another thing that can cause this is midi 'noise' coming from a controller, such as caused by a dirty pot or some such. I'm not saying that is your problem but I've certainly run into it before when my M-Audio Oxygen used to issue uncommanded data, i.e the knobs would fluctuate without me touching ...

Re: Unsaved changes when nothing has changed

Do you have non-self-containing samples in that project that were moved to a different location? After samples were found at a new location, this is the reason for unsaved changes. No, no self contained samples. And it's not just one project, it's quite a few that do this. When I start a new projec...

Re: Unsaved changes when nothing has changed

Is it the first time you have opened those projects since the 10.4 update? I wonder if it is writing something to pre 10.4 projects. Just a guess though. No, there are projects I have done since the upgrade. I am starting to suspect certain VSTs are the culprit. Narrowing it down to the specific on...

Unsaved changes when nothing has changed

Since 10.4, a lot of projects will open and straightaway claim to have unsaved changes when all I did was open it. Does anybody else get this? It's not a dealbreaker, just a little nuisance. But would be nice to get rid of it nonetheless.

Alright. Since we're just having some fun with Photoshop... and like I said earlier. It's just a quick and dirty mock-up. Couldn't be bothered to do an entire channel strip, but you get the idea.

Re: The Dark Theme Should Have A Dark Mixer.

Look at it! Look! All those shiney knobs will cause eye strain. Nope nope nope. Do it properly or don't do it at all. Aw come on. We all know what Hurricane is trying to get across and we all agree with it. Redesigning the colour scheme of a complex interface takes time. A lot of time. Just a mock-...

But! They allow their licenses to be sold once.
So you can buy from them, knowing you can sell your license if you ever want to, OR you can buy a 2nd hand license for cheap knowing that you can't sell it.
Interesting. I didn't realise that.

There was a quite good deal with NI a few months ago where you could get much more than 15-20%. U-He does rarly sales and even more rare they do big sales. U-He VSTs bit cheaper on PluginBoutique

They're about 15% off this weekend. Not a lot.

In your experience, is this as good as it gets with U-He plugins? Some manufacturers seem to do a 80% off sale every other week. But U-He is a bit more conservative AFAIK. So maybe 15% is as good as you can hope for?
