Re: Reasonstudios Black Friday Week
Ok, this is strange. The website says that the annual Reason+ subscription code should be valid until midnight tonight (29 Nov). However, when trying to redeem it, I get both a green checkmark as well as red text stating that it is invalid: https://i.imgur.com/Mow1xgI.png Any other late comers exper...

Re: Synapse Audio Black Friday Sale (up to 60% off ) - not only FX anymore
How is the RE-160 compared to Waves dbx160? Anywhere near the ballpark? I haven't used the Waves plugin but RE-160 is an awesome compressor. I put it on drums all the time and it also does a great job at sidechaining. Different question: does Obsession cycle through the different voice boards when ...

Re: Synapse Audio "Obsession" RE - coming soon!
My bad all. I wasn't intentionally spreading misinformation. Perhaps it was something that was different when I joined a few years ago (right before burnout de-railed any capacity to follow through on my dreams of an audio software side hustle). More likely just a crossed wire in my head leading to...

Re: Synapse Audio "Obsession" RE - coming soon!
I'm not sure where you got this idea, as this is patently false. Devs can issue RE licenses at no cost to a user or the dev even if their product is being sold in the shop for a price. All they need is your username for your account. It's really quite simple. Well! This changes things. ...

Re: Synapse Audio "Obsession" RE - coming soon!
Not exactly. One is the equivalent of subtracting the RE commission from their gross VST profit. The other would come out of pocket. I am not an accountant or a lawyer but I don't think these are entirely the same from a finance department point of view. They have uniform development platform / fra...

Re: Synapse Audio "Obsession" RE - coming soon!
They don't have to pay anyone a fee to give you a free VST. To give you a free RE they need to pay Reason Studios the percentage of the sale, despite the fact that there was no sale. If VST and RE are the same price, this works the other way too - if someone buys the RE but gets the VST for free, S...

Re: Synapse Audio "Obsession" RE - coming soon!
As far as I remember, The Legend VST you can get for free after purchase RE by email to Synapse support. But not the other way around. Therefore, I will wait until RE comes out. That wouldn't be fair, would it? They don't have to pay anyone a fee to give you a free VST. To give you a free RE they n...

Re: Akai MPC Live / One / X: new 2.8 firmware incoming!
I'm hoping that the delay in the release of the next Force firmware is related to integrated all this awesome MIDI goodness! Always a relief to see a new firmware roll out of the LOUD conglomerate (or whatever they are called these days?), even if it's not for one of the products I currently own.

That is the opposite of my experience. Barely bother loading Arturia instruments but make use of Antidote and effects from my Rig purchases all the time.

Re: Reason 11.2 is here!
Reason within Logic is a total beast now! Not a Logic user but I was happy to see Ryan take a quick moment to point out that Ableton is missing a feature -- MIDI CC between plugins -- that Logic provides. To me it was also meant as a reminder to everyone who uses music software that nothing, as of ...

Re: No more NDA!
There is nothing sinister about extracting individual slices of REX files. You can do it in the Reason software itself, it just takes way more time to bounce each note to an individual sample. Yes, of course. I was only thinking about, that there are no tools outside of Reason to handle REX-Files (...

Re: No more NDA!
Nice! Now I can release the custom REX extraction script I wrote as well :D I think, that Reason Studios don't allow to offer REs outside the RS Shop nor REs which don't meet the RS expectations. I don't think that decryption of REX-Files for example is in the sense of the RS folks (but would be fi...

Re: Layers...”just” a rompler? Isn’t it?
Layers and Layers Wave (we are talking about the RS products, right?) have some quick and fun potential for dialing in evolving pads backed by a rhythmic sequence from a different legendary sound source. I don't open them often but when I do and I engage them on their own terms, I enjoy the results....

Cubase, Tracktion, Bitwig, Presonus, UAD, and more, I saw them there at NAMM but not Reason. Wonder why they didn't attend the worlds biggest music gear show...??? It's been a long standing absence that I assumed was due to some past beef/on-going bad blood. Behringer famously doesn't bother with m...

Re: Behringer Arp 2600
In the medium term, the Korg re-issue will increase in price to near astronomical levels while the Behringer "clones" get tossed around like cheap chips that chirp exactly like R2-D2. In the long term, the Behringers get re-valued according to their improvements and considered a different beast with...

Re: Reason SSL Mixer Hardware Controller
I'm truly hoping that MIDI 2.0 will finally allow for truly usable generic controllers. Once displays are more or less "auto wired" to instruments with bidirectional feedback, without sysex and Remote Scripts and Maps and all the garbage we deal with now, I think we might just arrive there...

Re: God I love the Legend (Positive rant)
Legend vs Monark... I used to think Legend was redundant because I already have Monark. It came included with a bundle and I still didn't really open it. But that isn't to say I was firing up Reaktor all that often to open the Monark ensemble, either. Once I sat down and explored the presets, it was...
