Re: Would you like to see Linux version of Reason?
a linux version would be great, but the windows version is annoyingly close to being usable with Wine at the moment. the worst problem is ther file menu bar which doesnt work without doing a weird key combo, then theres some minor issues like missing ui elements on the transport bar, and certain gra...

Re: Keep search term in browser search box.
this will fix it if you dont mind installing autohotkey. just paste the code into a text file and save it as "reason browser fix.ahk" or whatever, then double click the file to run it. it checks the search box before and after every mouse click and then and adds the text back in if its missing #noEn...

Re: Offline authorization will be discontinued for R11 and earlier - This is serious
As much as one part of me doesn't like the discontinuation, another part of me feels pretty good about it. As a R11 user I won't be buying anything new for quite some time, probably not until R13 drops. And it actually makes me feel more committed to work with all the stuff I already have. It's a b...

Re: Will Reason support linux in the future.
Carla sounds very interesting from what I've read so far but I think the whole premise of this topic should be renamed to will Linux support Reason in the future. ive had better luck with yabridge than carla. if anyone is interested i wrote up the steps to get everything setup on linux a while back...

Re: So I jumped from Reason to Reaper... for some things
the thing that sold me on reaper is how fast it opens. its a fairly lightweight program to begin with but not having to deal with any bs login that has to verify your licence with some servers somewhere else in the world means it opens almost instantly. they way they handle the licence as well is re...

Re: Reason VST3 and Linux
Nice one Zebbleganubi! Thanks for all the info, testing and how-to steps. I use Linux (Debian) and some native software like Renoise and Reaper and Ardour, with no real desire to go back to Reason to be honest, but I do sometimes miss the RS instruments so may try your process one rainy day. youre ...

Re: Reason12: please bring back option to opt out of user data collection
good points. im surprised how many reasons are piling up not to upgrade. i usually upgrade most of the time but with this forced telemetry and reason being buggy (last i heard anyway), i dont think i will bother. the high res graphics would be nice to have i suppose but i dont really think its worth...

Re: Reason VST3 and Linux
ive made a bit of progress (with reason standalone) where im now able to use all of my RE's (86 of them). before i was getting the "unknown exception" warning if i had more than 5 or so in the RackExtensions folder. unfortunately im still getting that same error message when i try to open the rack p...

Re: Reason VST3 and Linux
some good news. yabridge added vst3 support a few days ago (see this post for more info) and the reason rack plugin is finally (partly) working now! (im running pop os 20.04 and wine 6.0) i only messed around with it for a quick minute but it was relatively easy to setup up and the sound is coming t...

Re: Best Audio recorder for My Android phone?
i havnt done much research into apps myself. a good few years back i found "mp3 recorder" and ive just stuck with that since. it lets you record to a wav file as well. has a free and a paid version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hiqrecorder.free&hl=en_US&gl=US theres also a short...

Re: Looking for a very small-footprint controller keyboard
i use a kboard which is decent enough and minimal. i mainly use it for the same reasons you are looking for. that said the bend key on it is too small too be useful and the octave buttons are too close to the lowest key so i trigged that by accident from time to time another controller ive been usin...

Re: Reason VST3 and Linux
You are having better luck than I am with Carla and Reason Rack. I'm on Ubuntu 20.04 w/ Carla 2.1 and when scanning for plugins the carla bridge crashes on reason rack. Curious what your setup is. Since I've added reason I also lost all my other plugins in Carla, guessing because it crashes the bri...

sat down this evening to have another go at this but no luck in the end. installed carla and all of the carla wine bridge stuff (apt-cache search carla). in bitwig i added the "carla rack" device and then inside that carla gui/window i added the reason rack plugin. when i go to open the reason rack ...

Re: You also feeling ripped off upgrading?
I avoid most RE's because they clutter up the OS drive without the simple option LIKE OTHER DAWS to most extras to a different drive. i could be wrong but i think you can symlink the folder. i symlinked the soundbank files before and it worked but that was on the same drive. you could have all your...

"after a good few hours of tinkering i still havnt been able to get it working. Re: Reason VST3 and Linux
If I have to install a Windows emulator on it would that defeat the purpose of going Linux (performance increase)? if you do a quick search you can probably find out more info on wine but all i know is that wine is an acronym for "wine is not an emulator". ive seen it mentioned a few times that X g...
