Recording latency compensation?

Do you guys mess with the "recording latency compensation" in the Preferences Audio tab? More recently I was working on a song and somehow the piano part I was writing the timing was consistently WAY off. Either it's latency, or I had an brain aneurysm. It's really confusing... it seems you're suppo...

Stereo track quantize issues?

Has anyone else noticed any issues when quantizing stereo tracks? They seem to distort often. If I try and quantize the mono version they don't.

Route the two tracks to a bus. Or bounce them to a stereo file if you don’t need to change anything.
Ah! Then use the stereo bus as a record source!

Woot! Thanks

Is this super tricky? I haven't figured it out yet.

Or am I just missing a button?

Re: RE crossover filter?

well, I’ve tried it using the Yoko, and it doesn’t work using the returns, which I guess makes sense, given the device’s intended purpose. still, you can get there pretty easily with two Yokos in a mix track or combi. just route the track outputs to the ins of the Yokos, pull the low cutover on bot...

Re: Summing/splitting Filter with crossover?

Do anyone use a filter that has at least two inputs that can split them via a crossover? Like- one audio input being split with another audio with a crossover filter? (One input is cut at 500 and is split with another one that goes from 500 up) What do you use for that? I'm sure I could rig somethi...

You can build any kind of filter you want in Reaktor.
Hmm. Perhaps I need to look into Reaktor some more. I've been having a lot of fun making modular synth patches, :P

but it does a lot more, eh?

I would use just 2 filters, 1 LPF and 1 HPF. Put it in a Combinator and you are done.
yeah that would work. And just link the cutoffs. It just seems funny to me that there isnt such a thing.

RE crossover filter?

I’m looking for a filter that takes 2 inputs and merges into 1 via a crossover frequency

I know I can do it with 2 filters (hp and lp and combine) but I wanted to know if y’all know of another way

If there is no level or wet/dry, use a simple native mixer or Morfin RE.

Trick to soften a Bypass/On Automation click?

Have you guys used things to soften that Bypass/On click that sometimes happens when automating an effect? All I really need is prob a 10ms onset fade to get ridda that click. I just got that Shelob splitter, but I was wondering if there's another way... I'm sure there's multiple ways, but I'm a suc...

Re: Stereo Width Knob

I reduce the width of most stuff that i pan. A hard left panned stereo piano with a stereo reverb on the patch will still bleed to the right with the width fully opened, so i'll reduce the width. Like when you say "reduce the width," do you mean fully? Or just a little? I guess I'm trying to get a ...

Re: Stereo Width Knob

In my experience most kicks are centered already and don't contain much stereo information so changing the stereo width knob does nothing. It might help with some synth basses but I'd only do it if your sides are muddy, etc.. I think this is one of those things where you mileage will vary. :) Do yo...

Yeahh I did that. It does work just fine. It’s just a huge thing to add just for that.

And I think the best way to automate a gate in there would be to add a track for it and use midi input?

Make/Find a audio LPG

How or where could I find a LPG that I could put on an audio chain??

I would also like to trigger the gate via automation...

That would be super fantastic, amirite?

(This newfound enjoyment of LPG came from my recent Complex-1 purchase)

Ha. I can't believe I didn't think sampler before Grain. I guess Grain seemed to fit the bill a little better for what I'm working with. Is Thor with notes the easiest way to automate it within an FX chain? Like without having to bounce it? Just route audio through Thor via the modulation matrix, w...
