The Logic arpeggiator is pretty good. I prefer it to the Reason one.

If you have active monitors, how do you get sound to them? Via headphone jack? An external audio interface will (most probably) give you higher quality digital to analog converters, and balanced outputs.

I tried to use Matrix in a RRP yesterday. It was so small, had to basically stick my face to the screen to see what the note was, gave up.

Fabfilter plugins run natively on M1, as does Nexus. Reaper runs in M1 as well, if you dislike Logic. And ProTools is supposedly on the way.

It's only been a couple of months, give it until next summer and I guess you'd be fine moving over. Whether Reason will run natively is a different question.

What I like (about using RRP in Reaper versus Reason DAW):
- Super CPU efficient. I can run many more devices, it's like having a PC upgrade!

It's the same in Logic. My old Macbook was struggling with Reason, but switching to Logic uses much less CPU. Saved me buying a new computer.

I have a similar age Macbook Pro and struggled to run Reason on it, but switched to Logic and it zings along with no issues at all.

Nonetheless here's the first music benchmark video. Only caveat is he compares to a top i9 iMac.

That mini is only only 8gb as well, so it seems, if you're using Logic at least, the M1 is a big leap forward.
