Re: Reason Studios 30th Anniversary Live Stream
I overhyped myself for some announcement, but that's Okay. Ryan is doing an amazing job hosting and telling actual history of Reason, along with several guests doing the same. I'm liking it!

Re: Question about Mono/Stereo in Reason
@Selig, Thanks for the clarification. For the phase mono check, that's why I use your Selig Gain RE  , but it's good to know what can cause phase issues before they get to that point. For the send FX, I mostly use mono tracks so I don't notice what you pointed out. Thank you. Even with mon...

Re: Question about Mono/Stereo in Reason
The width knob on the main mixer channel just moves the left and right signals of the source closer together in the stereo output. When you put that knob all the way to the left, then both signals are at equal strength in the stereo output. This could cause some phasing issues depending on the sour...

Re: Having trouble ducking Reverb in Reason
... To duck the decay time (or feedback time on delays for a similar effect), you need a Combinator and a compressor. Using a vocal as an example, split the vocal and feed a compressor such as the MClass Compressor (set to low threshold/high ratio, and relatively fast attack/release times). Take th...

Missing Sounds - Some sounds could not be found
Hey all, been a while, but I never left... Please help! My Win10 computer crashed hard after like 4 years of solid performance, so I had to reimage/reinstall everything (my data was stored elsewhere and backed up). So I reinstalled Reason 12.2.4d100 (Stable channel), including all my RE's etc.. but ...

Re: Upgrading from 10.4 to 11.x issues
Sorry, I could have been more clear, I already paid for 11.x, but just haven't installed it yet. I'm aware of all the threads about WHETHER to upgrade or not. You can install both and check yourself! Just add the version number to the install path of 11 for example so it's in a non standard locatio...

Upgrading from 10.4 to 11.x issues
Anyone have issues with their songs when they upgraded from 10.4 to the latest version? Did they sound the same? Anything to watch out for? I wanted to run this by the forum before doing it.

For those not too techy, GRIFTY is refering to these folders on your Windows 10 drive (or similar): (In file explorer, you may have to select View, then check the boxes for 'File name extensions', and 'Hidden items') This PC-> Local Disk (C:) -> Users -> (Your username) -> .AppData -> Local -> Prope...

Re: audio glitches on render, what could it be?
Over the years in capturing and rendering audio, I've only experienced these types of glitches when exporting to MP3 using computers or devices that can't keep up. For example, I have an original Zoom H4N audio recorder. When I record to WAV, there are no glitches. When I record to MP3, I have glit...

1. Avoid further fracturing of their loyal customer base by onboarding ALL current customers of version 10.x to 11 at no additional cost, (with statement saying they've heard our concerns and want to make it right). 2. Allow VST3 support to bring in customers from other DAWs who have discovered thei...

I think Audio Editors, not DAWs are better suited to restore old audio tapes. I do that for my clients in Adobe Audition CC.

Re: Clipping on mixdown driving me mad
Since it is happening in random places as you described, regardless of master volume level, or buffer settings, it appears to be an issue that's happening outside of Reason, possibly within the computer's OS or hardware. It could also be outside of that in the electrical system of the room. Try conn...

Re: Issue with assigning buttons to select individual tracks
As far as I know you can't do it that way, but if your devices aren't already massive combinator patches, you could put each instrument into a combinator, and route mute or something like that to buttons on the combinator to switch them on and off, and then map those to your controller. Thanks for ...

Re: Help with vocal sound
To get that squashed EQ sound, try inserting the vocals into the Audiomatic Retro Transformer. There are some similar sounding presets in there to help . Then you can add some more saturation/compression on top of it followed by some verb and ducked delay.

External MIDI instruments are just MIDI data, not audio, so they won't show in the mixer. Click on Create->Create Audio Track. Then connect the physical audio outputs from your your Novation Bass Station to physical audio inputs on your audio device. In the Sequencer, choose the Audio Track and wher...

Re: Creating mixed meter loop
If I'm understanding you correctly, try using the Drum Sequencer by Propellerhead. You can create loops of different lengths that can be played together. Once installed, it can be found under Players.
