Re: Reason 10 announced!

I'm still reading through the whole thread, and I know some PH people have replied... these are just my thoughts. I should also say that I've already requested to beta test and I will likely be upgrading on October 25th. I think these new stock devices look fantastic and I'm excited to use them. Whi...

Re: Multiple instrument control in Kontakt

Hello, I'm trying to rig Kontakt in Reason to have multiple outputs, for multiple instruments, not drums. How can various midi channels be assigned? Is there a way to make Reason see them so that there are midi tracks to control them? There are lots of tutorials but they're all about multi outs for...

Re: Why reason is so F**ng slow to scan all my vst ?

I get the scanning window every time I open Reason, but I also have about 300 VSTs installed. Probably has something to do with the number of directories I have added to scan for plugins. Next computer, I'm creating a dedicated install folder on a separate drive!

Re: How to create a rich analog-style pad in Reason

Great content, as usual, and the vocals sound MUCH better. What did you end up changing? Thanks so much! I'm glad to hear the vocals are coming through more clearly. I think the only the I changed was the processing in OBS. Instead of using the onboard noise suppressor/gate/compressor, I loaded up ...

Sort of like a task manager within Reason? That'd be cool if properly implemented -- you should send Propellerhead the suggestion!

Re: Recording vocals in Reason 9.5 for the first time. Advice & Tips needed.

Hi All, I've been recording instrumental stuff in Reason, but am about to attempt recording my  vocals properly for the first time. Any useful tips and advice would be much appreciated on the following. Thanks.  I am using a Focusrite 214  audio card, and condenser mic. ( Rode) I set up on Asio inp...

Re: Waves - general opinion

Quality-wise though, they do what they say they do and they do it well. Just keep those things in mind and you'll be golden. Thanks for that extra insight Mike. I had noticed that the plugins always seem to be on perpetual sale and never at full price. I noticed the update plan which is a bit sneak...

Re: Waves - general opinion

Yes, thumbs up in general. There are a few gripes, the biggest for me being the Waves Update Plan, in which Waves asks you for more money to continue receiving updates for plugins that you own. Other things would be the fact that installing one plugin will actually install all of their plugins, whi...

Re: Waves plugins crash Reason 9.5 d241

Yeah, contact Waves for sure. Since it's probably the plugin installation, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the plugins. If you have the latest version of Waves Central (I think this is a new feature), you can try repairing the installation in the "Install" drop down menu.

Re: What's your GAS level since Reason 9.5?

As others have said, my purchases have been mostly REs since VST support was added -- a bit counter-intuitive, for sure. Personally, I've used Pro Tools as my main DAW for years, so I already had the collection of VSTs in place when support was added. You can imagine how happy I was to hear it! And ...

Re: I made a video to explain Kontakt routing within Reason. Let me know what you think!

Thanks, I appreciate the feedback! It's funny you bring that up, because I realized earlier today that I hadn't given much thought to the audio quality of the voiceover... which seems silly, given the subject matter. Up to this point, I've recorded audio directly into OBS and have been using their ...

Re: I made a video to explain Kontakt routing within Reason. Let me know what you think!

Hey Mike - just a suggestion... all of your voice overs in your reviews sound like low bit-rate MP3's from the late 90's. Not sure what's going on with your recordings, but you might want to look into that. Otherwise, nice work! I was actually JUST about to say something similar. Great work and con...

Re: Here's a review I did on Waves CLA Mixdown. Hopefully you find it useful!

Do you use it frequently? Would you recommend it on "every" mix? Is it worth the money? Now it's on sale for $29 instead of $99. I don't use it very frequently, but I do like what it does. Hopefully this isn't a cop-out, but it's hard for me to recommend something on every mix, because every mix is...

Nice review! It's a good plugin as well just very easy to overdo it on the compression.
Thank you! I agree that it is easy to overdo it... particularly, as you mention, with compression. I'd say the same about the drive. Don't want to push it too hard.

Re: Default channel color

Honestly I think the colors need a bit of an overhaul in general. Some of them are close to unusable, and I feel like there's no reason to have the full RBG spectrum available to make custom colors for tracks. Hoping for it!

This was great. You should try spreading them across 4 instances of Kontakt and see if the performance is better by having all 4 cores working equally.
Thank you! That's an interesting idea, I will have to give that a shot.

Re: I made a video to explain Kontakt routing within Reason. Let me know what you think!

I have a song with 9 Kontakt instances (plus NNXTs etc.) that runs fine on 1024 buffer @ 44.1 kHz. My 2 year old iMac doesn't fair well with the "stress test" so I know it's not some super-system by any means! Screen Shot 2017-08-23 at 9.04.12 PM.png Also, I use only one Kontakt for drums (keeps CP...

Fine work! Keep on making tutorials! ... and now I realized that there's a template folder  One thing that shocked me was the high DSP load around 6:10 in the video: only 2 Kontakt units and 3 up to 4 bars on the DSP meter ... one more Kontakt would not be possible, I think but that has ...
