that doesn't work so simply.
i forgot about the absolute/relative toggle underneath the drop-down menu for the note snap scale.
"absolute" will auto drag a clip to the nearest beat the snap is set to.
just in case anyone else couldn't figure this out.

Re: transients/cuts to grid
omg it's so obvious...
hold shift shift dragging a clip.
that auto-snaps the beginning of the clip to the grid.
don't know why that took me so long to figure out.

Re: Cv sequencing of non western tunings possible in reason ?
just a little tidbit: i made a microtonal setup once as a learning experiment. basically i duplicated thor synths, detuned the ones set to play microtonal, adjusted keyboard mapping to play the "between" notes with a modifier key just on the tuned synth, and played them with one combinator. this was...

Re: Has anyone ever successfully recovered a corrupt project file?
i don't know how but there has been times when reason crashed and saved it, as well as a file becoming corrupt. sometimes reason automatically reopened it, but my audio was all orphans and i had to reroute it all. once i had a vst that would freeze reason anytime i booted it, it was an older one tha...

transients/cuts to grid
hey all. so i am working with live instrument audio and am doing alot of cutting and rearranging. one common task i engage in is cutting audio at transients and lining it up with the grid. i know that inside a clip, we can nudge the transient left or right to automatically snap to the grid, but i ne...

Bitley’s Way Betond Fairlight refill is great. It’s pretty expensive but it goes on sale from time to time. It’s very iconic 80s. Loads of combis. Nice avatar you’ve got there by the way. thanks, it's an extreme crop of some paper/string art i made for my album cover: [/img] greatest hits front.jpg...

Re: Widening Plugins
The Izotope is awesome..! One thing as far as mix goes is do some mid/side EQ or efx .. I'm a fan a short stereo delay for mono.. Actually, that does remind me of a question in regards to panning a mono with delay for stereo effect, I've taken a mono vocal and duplicated it, one right one left with...

Re: absolute tweak-free 80s synth sounds?
Layers is pretty much just a Rompler with some samples and a few extra controls which you can do easily with other stuff. (Feel free friends to correct me if I’m wrong. ) What “iconic synths” do you want to mimic? There’s masses of free VSTs out there which do the sounds of the classics. The majori...

Re: absolute tweak-free 80s synth sounds?
Both layers and Algoritm are marketed as great 80s style synths. Algoritm can go a lot further though. Layers might have more presets I say demo them both yeah, i could demo lots of synths, but i don't want to spend hours going through presets in different synths, hoping someone here just knows off...

absolute tweak-free 80s synth sounds?
hi all. i have a few vst synths, and can make great sounds with thor and europa, but i really need a set of patches or a vst with presets that have "iconic" 80s sounds i can just load up and use. i have enough dx7and jupiter80 vst's and samples ro shake a stick at, but what i want is presets/vst/rac...

Re: How to manually match a live recorded audio to tempo
i would also add that IF you don't want to quantisize it to a specific BPM, for example to prevent time stretch artifacts or maintain the artist's performance, stop at the step right before bouncing the audio to new recording with the new tempo information, and just work on the song with the new tem...

How to Synthesizers
i made this video for my friend's son to teach how synths work, but this is very relevant to reason's synths and i used reason for all the synth sounds in the making of this vid. if you are a beginner or amateur, this might be extremely informative, and entertaining. i made it last year, but have ha...

Re: are send FX the final stage in the reason routing?
Sends are a solution to 2 old problems: - It allows you to process more channels with less processor machines. - It allows you to process multiple sources in the same context (for example mimicking a room natural reverberation or delay). yeah, i don’t know why i had it in my head that i could someh...
