No, there is sadly no way to get these values from the VSTs. The Comb is only showing it's own numbers.

72dpi looks to be more then enough. I'm not sure if they got different settings for Retina-Displays tho.

Are you just kidding me? Saving a File in the background is not a big deal if u using a multicore-processor and Reason cannot know when its crahing, but it should always keep a backup-save in the background to restore it (like any other DAW, Dude). So yes.
