Re: Who would like to have lyrics inside Reason?

I find it surprising that anyone thinks this is a ridiculous request. This would be literally the simplest request of all. Just a little notepad inside of Reason. Have you people really never needed/wanted some notes to go along with your project? Then there are others like us who are producers, lyr...

The sub 37 is definitely the next synth I'm getting. Been eyeing them up for a long while now but I've already got two synths and I'm more of a guitarist anyway..

cough Minilogue cough $499 USD, it's a fun little beast. I got mine about a year ago. Yea, guess I should have stated what “fills every need” means to me, which includes having more than 2 envelopes and 1 LFO per voice. ;) Sent from some crappy device using Tapatalk Ah, I understand. I'm not a big ...

Re: Is there any real value in buying hardware?

Just curious if you’ve tried a Kemper yet? It’s the first one that has actually fooled me—everything else fell short. (And by “fooled” I mean it sounds so good it has inspired me to play more often.) Kempers are great if you approach guitar from a synth player perspective, e.g. you need more than o...

Re: Moog Grandmother

I have no more interest in mono keyboards. There’s literally millions of them on the market. What we need are more analogue polys in the affordable price range. Same here, but the only “affordable” analogue poly is DeepMind. I also like Novation Peak, then up at the next price point there is Prophe...

If you don't have the mix and mastering rig, get it. The other rigs are probably good too but I bought this one last May and subsequently upgraded to the new version of the rig as well. Good stuff.

Re: TIDAL accused of deliberately faking Kanye West and Beyoncé streaming numbers

his initial statement is more along the lines of "nothing is fulfilling if you can't share it". But yeah, then he overthought that ;) Ok I definitely understand that. If my music never had an audience, that would be.. depressing. But when I'm in my studio, the only thing I'm thinking about is bring...

Re: TIDAL accused of deliberately faking Kanye West and Beyoncé streaming numbers

I enjoy creating music, but I don't enjoy it if there's no-one to make it for. I couldn't disagree more. Like 180 degrees at 180 mph. You also said, paraphrasing, if there's no audience then it's too much like work. Quite the opposite. If you're only making music for someone else (ie for a paycheck...

Re: Brand new laptop... Computer too slow. HALP!

A high performance plan will not improve performance. Just because I don't mince with my words does not make one "hostile". It seems you just can't accept an alternate/parallel reality to the one you believe in. So you engage in deflection and aggression as a sort of smoke screen. A high performanc...

Re: Brand new laptop... Computer too slow. HALP!

Lets run performance stuff off a battery, the laptop battery won't last for long... Are you normally this obtuse or do you just need a Snickers? I do this ALL THE TIME. Just so happens my old battery on my old laptop runs just long enough with all at maximum settings until the end of my lunch break...

Sorry if I got anyone excited by bumping this thread with no new information, but has anyone read any rumblings anywhere? Behringer said late April and (as I think many of us expected) it's now mid-May with no official updates. Nope. But I'd take this for $299 over the Moog Grandmother at 3x the co...

Also note I never run my laptop just on the battery (I bet I have but I can't remember doing so).
If running off the battery is "stupid" then what is never letting your battery fully discharge/charge? EH?

Re: Yamaha Reface series- What?

I've had the Refaces on my crimmus list for a while now. Definitely getting one or two of them. Unless I can find a used Nord that does good organs and rhodes/wurly sounds for the price of two refaces. Kinda tricky trying to figure out which Nords do what. Anyone know of a sub $900 used nord that na...

Re: Brand new laptop... Computer too slow. HALP!

This. I would only add that you can customize your power profiles to not do this. But by default, yes this is definitely true. My profile is such that it throttles performance when battery is below X level. I will instantly get "computer too slow" message or other problems when running on battery a...

Re: Brand new laptop... Computer too slow. HALP!

Bullshit, it does not improve performance. Would love you to prove it. I wouldn't call it bullshit at all. You can prove it to yourself quite easily: having your power profile set to Balanced will throttle your CPU and make your entire system feel slower than it does compared to when it's clocked t...

Yes an interface will solve the problem. But I'm running an older Dell i7 with no issues whatsoever so I'm thinking something's probably just off with your configurations. One thing I'd recommend trying is easy. Set up a new administrative user on this computer and try the demo song again. See if th...

Re: Audio Interfaces - is there a difference in sound

Some interfaces allow you to bypass the onboard preamps. I do this with my M-Track Eight. The one I tried before this (18i20 2nd gen) didn't have a true bypass. So the short answer is "yes".

Re: What headphones to get

You may have luck looking at live sound “in ears” because they have the highest quality and most options (but you won’t find them for $100!). You start with custom fit molds for your ears because (as I understand it) the “one size fits all” won’t cut it in most cases. My GF has a few generic pairs ...
