Re: Question to Selig on how EHX pedals work

Wireless - I've wondered before why classic effects like POG and Whammy don't seem to turn up as VST ports - because they're so old, it never occurred to me that it might be for reasons of processing power! POG 2 is one pedal I always meant to buy but never got round to it. EdGrip - Don't know how ...

Re: Question to Selig on how EHX pedals work

normen - can you explain further please? I've already got a copy of Midi Guitar 2 from Jam Origin. I'm aware that I can use this as a stand-alone application or as a VST inside of Reason. In both variants, I can access any VST instruments on the computer. Due to current midi limitations in Reason 1...

It can also put out the notes through a virtual midi port, no need to use it as a plugin, works fine with Reason. normen - can you explain further please? Re: Question to Selig on how EHX pedals work

Just wanna say, kHs Pitch Shifter for €9 is a no-brainer for an effect otherwise absent in Reason (unless you want to pay for Polar) and which is a building block of various other effects. Agreed. I downloaded a trial of the Polar device a week or so ago when it was Euro 69. While I was exploring t...

Re: Question to Selig on how EHX pedals work

I love this challenge - for sure we need more Reason-based guitar effects! There's lots of clever folks in this forum, so let's get some more ideas going. Here's an idea based on the kHs Pitch Shifter (currently only 9 euros in the sale - or just download a trial). I've uploaded a combinator to emul...

Oh bravo raymondh. That is one classy tune. Made me think of hang-gliding amongst the mountains, or maybe that scene in Avatar where the natives are flying with the dragon-birds amongst the garlanded hanging islands - definitely a feeling of free and easy dreaming/flying. Maybe a hint of jean-michel...

Re: My love of Electro Harmonix pedals realized in 10

Calebbrennan, I tinkered around with your idea a little and came up with the CMB_Overtone_Guitar_Effect_Wireless.zip attached Combinator. As other readers may have noted, it requires a copy of the Polar Pitch Shifter (available for trial, or currently in the Shop on offer at 49 euros). Any comments ...

Re: My love of Electro Harmonix pedals realized in 10

As to your 'challenge' - how do we emulate those. In my view we need to start with an audio to midi core, and then the ability in Reason to be able to route that midi to core instruments, REs and to VSTs. I'm not minimising the effort in emulating an EHX pedal, but we're a little bit stuck with Reas...

Re: My love of Electro Harmonix pedals realized in 10

Hi calebbrennan, Thanks so much for sharing. This patch seems to need plug-ins that I don't own. The link to the Props shop says that I need the Polar Dual Pitch Shifter (at 69 Euro) and the kHs Chorus (free). I downloaded the freebie Chorus plus a trial of the Pitch Shifter, so that I could play a ...

Whey-hey. This is one really sweet effect. Thank you for the heads up. I've been using it now for the last two hours - just solidly on electric guitar and with nothing else in the chain. I've also only explored the guitar patches, so I'm looking forward to lots of fun with this device. Thanks again ...

Re: Synchronous creates guitar synth

Hi calebbrennan, You were discussing your GR50 in this thread - Just to let you know that I purchased Midi Guitar2 from Jam Origin and was blown away. Price is currently £77. This is both a stand-alone and a VST program. It requires no special hardware, just plug in the guitar audio. On the plus sid...

Re: How do Archive your Patches and call them up quickly?

Another thought that might be helpful. When mixing up instruments to get that killer effect it's worth remembering the trick of i) select all, ii) right-click, iii) select 'combine', to put the effects into a new Combinator. You can then save the whole thing as a Combinator patch. This has so many a...

Hey, that sounds intriguing! I enjoy playing guitar and those pedals do make amazing sounds. I've never taken the leap myself into real hardware but have drooled over them in the odd guitar shop. Are you up for sharing your patches?

I've got a similar external hardware device - two ins and two outs in my case (Steinberg UR22). I monitor via the outputs on the back of this device - but if you want to monitor via usb speakers, then I think it should be as simple as selecting the right audio from the speaker icon in the system tra...

Re: AIR Instruments releases Boom as a VST

Hya, This feedback might help. I purchased Xpand!2 from Air Music, and liked it so much I went straight ahead and bought the Air Instrument Expansion Pack - the 'select' version for $59.95 - this for me was Wow! - lots of seriously good stuff in there, and for me excellent value for money. However I...

Re: To those who upgraded

So far - Yes. Just being lazy / cautious, but honestly I can see no point in keeping the duplication as I have not seen any issues with v10 to date. I guess there must be a significant amount of space taken up which will impact my backups - and hence I am very likely to remove v9 within a few weeks....

Two to report:- 1) MauSynth 10/11 A strange one to report. This instrument works fine on my laptop but not my desktop. Both systems use the latest version of Reason. On the desktop, a problem is reported during Reason power-up and the plug-in is disabled. I've tried the usual things like de-installi...

Re: Reason 8.1 & above CPU Stress Test (songfile included)!

Hi All, I've just come across this thread and found if very interesting. Having read through all 11 pages, it looks to me that when specifying a Reason computer the top priority is to have as many real (rather than virtual) cores as you can afford. Other priorities like CPU speed, amount and speed o...

Hello fellow travellers, I've been having some fun researching what's available by way of free VSTs. Now that I've (just) been granted access to a Beta 9.5, I've started to make some traction. The table below shows where I've got to. I've not attempted to rank these, as we are probably all looking f...

Hi Woozy. Liked the Demos - well done!
So, followed the link to EBay to purchase and discovered a note that says will not ship to United Kingdom. Can you clarify please if this Refill is for sale in UK, and if it is available as a download?

Many thanks
