Re: Chris Cornell
Prince for me was still a bigger blow (and Bowie about equal), but I've been absolutely gutted and out of sorts all day. He far and away had the best rock voice of his generation. RIP.

Re: Newbie Question Re "Rigs/Bundles"
A general rule of thumb I always follow is not to pigeon-hole myself in what I find to be "interesting" in the moment... perhaps a day may come when you will want to experiment around with a few of the "uninteresting" devices, and as a result, find new inspiration.

Re: Is there a worse combination than writer's block and procrastination?
Made some decent progress, yet I may wind up needing to push back my conferral to the Summer... not necessarily given at this moment, but if it does happen, it won't be the end of the world either. As to the relationship between fear/anxiety, procrastination, and writer's block, a couple interesting...

Is there a worse combination than writer's block and procrastination?
Having gone through the process of both of these phenomena over the last couple months, i can say without a doubt that I've never felt such a crunch to get work done than I do now (but I'm at work , and won't be able to start the work in earnest for another hour or so). I had finished the first draf...

Re: Do you also dance?
I dance quite a bit, but not nearly enough as I used to. I would consider my personal dance style to be relatively freeform, but with elements of liquid and top-rock (too heavy to consider hip hop floor moves... LOL). When I go to events that are more to my general liking, everyone that dances at th...

Re: SoundCloud will be shutting down (probably.. or get bought out)
I've been a bit neglectful of my Soundcloud account, and probably haven't used it to its full potential for my work, but if it does go under, I hope something comes around to fully replace it. I just got back into DJ'ing so I think I'll go with Mixcloud for that side.

Re: Do you listen to your own music?
After I've fully finished a tune I'll give it a listen, then wil share it with some friends and family if I think it's pretty good. Within the first week or so it will be prayed quite abit... then for around anywhere for weeks to months will pass, then I'll revisit some of those songs... a lot of ti...

Re: rules, laws, advices for creativity
I find that my most creative times usually occur at the extreme ends of what is going on in my life at the moment... if I have either a whole bunch of free time on my hands, or nowhere near enough of it, those are the times when it seems my creative drive is at its fullest. My general rule for eithe...

Re: What skills are you working on developing at the moment?
I feel that I need to develop my sense for melody writing... I occasionally will come up with something that has a nice "tune" to it, but it mainly occurs by accident. I want to try to do more than my usual rhythmic and textural experimenting (which I feel I have mastered, and can accomplish in a h...

Re: To developers - What RE are you most proud of?
The correct answer should always be "the next one" ;) But for me, it's Chenille and the Harmonic Synthesizer are the one's I'm especially proud of. Two of the best devices in the shop. I do have a real soft spot for the Combos, especially the Compact and the 310U, and Titus and the 100LA each do on...

Started with Reason 3, didn't upgrade until Reason 7, skipped 8, and have been a very happy Reason 9 user (really like the players , and have gone down the rabbit hole of RE's)

Agree that without this forum would not have known about the poll. I feel a bit angry and sad that Reason was relegated to the sad emoji... are they trying to imply that Reason users are sad?

Re: Thor pattern sequencer to track
You can automate thor's seq if you too lazy for som dam rpg-8/matrix Yes! Huge fan of the Matrix myself (RPG-8 is nice too, but I don't use it nearly as much as the Matrix). I would use those over the Thor sequencer any day too. But in terms of specifically using the Thor sequencer, automation for ...

Thanks for the info about the update and unison mode... I thought my two month old laptop was starting to go on me! So far this synth has been an absolute joy to play around with, and look forward to being able to dig deeper. Yeah, I'm realy sorry for the CPU load it can cause, but can't do much ab...

Re: Thor pattern sequencer to track
One thing I've done is to have track focus on Thor and to record automation into the track on the fly by switching between repeat/one shot/off for the step sequencer... I've also done the same method for reverses/random stepping as well.

Re: PSQ-1684 v3.0 is in the shop! (Trials Reset)
I have so much love for this device... have already done a few quick tracks in fully random mode (click the dice 7 times, attach whatever to wherever, and let it fly). Stuff is so weird and twisted and insane... I'm sure if I take my time and care to learn the device even more I can make some more "...

I don't have everything that has already been listed so far, but for those that I do I would agree with all the po.sitive comments so far... a couple others that have yet to be mentioned yet I find very useful are the JPS Harmonic Synthesizer (probably my personal favorite at the moment) and Revival

Re: Rob papen Attention Song Challange?
I've been using Reason for quite some time (since version 3 was new), used that til 7 came out, and then upgraded to 9. Since upgrading to 9, I have gone down the rabbit hole of adding rack extensions (mostly paid for by a roll over of student loan funding). I have been following this forum for quit...
